#Cycled to the Burrell Collection today. More for a birl around the Park and to be in the building than the collection itself.

Did have a wander round the galleries though, and one piece of interpretation accompanying 3 Buddhist figures did tickle me.

It may still be the first week in February but there’s a definite inkling of #spring in the air. The #Sun has made a welcome appearance after may days behind a curtain of #clouds and the #birds were chirping and squirrels were foraging as I #cycled to work and I didn’t feel the need to wear an inner hat underneath my helmet, nor a pair of thick gloves. Of course, in reality, the day’s still much too short to maintain the illusion just yet.

Today was part of our push not to use motorized private transport and so we #cycled to and from the #RailwayStation and took a train to #Plymouth and back. The #theatre's walking distance from the station.

#gardening report: transplanted farm purchased flowers and set out around the house. Thinned the calendula, dill, and basil sprouts. #cycled instead of more work. Gotta put the chitting potatoes into garage to hold until after much wetter and cooler weather passes next week. I #cycled this weekend and was so pleased to see all of the #cormorants flying around that little island in the #OttawaRiver beside the #ChiefWilliamCommanda Bridge.

Yesterday, we went on a day trip to #Oxford by #train. No other means of powered transport was used as we #cycled to and from our local #RailwayStation.

It's been drizzling rain all day, but I think this means that people have decided to stay at home.

As today’s a holiday, we #cycled along the western side of the #ExeEstuary. As it’s only accessible to #cyclists and #pedestrians, it’s a lot cleaner and quieter than in town. It therefore is a great place to see #flora and #fauna, particularly #birds. I’ll be several images of today’s excursion but to start off with, here’s one with a #stonehatch as the subject and a couple of cyclists approaching.

The other day I experienced the audio #DopplerEffect of a stationary emergency vehicle siren as I #cycled past it. Everyone has experienced a speeding ambulance or police car with its siren going off and its changing pitch as it goes past them but it was interesting to experience it in the alternative frame of reference. Not that I was going all that fast and so I was particularly surprised to notice the pitch go from high to low.
