My TARDISes always had those ‘stabiliser’ blocks on the front and the wrong number of windows on the side. It was only many years later, when I saw the publicity photos of Jackie Lane posing beside the hastily constructed stand-in TARDIS prop, that I realised where those bloomin’ stabilisers had come from. 🙂

I’ve heard the spaceship referred to as both Icarus and Liberty 1, though neither name is actually used in the film itself. Icarus seems to be a fan invention, while Liberty 1 turned up in a special feature on the 2008 Blu-ray box set.
Liberty 1 has a certain irony given the film’s ending, but I can just as easily imagine the ever-cynical Taylor nicknaming his ship Icarus.
