  1. Today I backed the second in the "Sir Sherlock" series of Sherlock Holmes audios starring Tom Baker and John Leeson as Holmes and Watson. I greatly enjoyed the first audio. Note the series is CD release only, so you'll need a CD player. Tom Baker is on fine form. kickstarter.com/projects/15237 #SherlockHolmes #Audio #TomBaker #DoctorWho

  3. Although I've always considered Tom Baker "my" Doctor Who, I've grown very fond of Sylvester McCoy, the seventh doctor, in recent years. His nemesis, the Rani, is my favorite Whovian villain and his companion Mel reminds me of a friend of my youth, Beth Kibler. #doctorwho #doctorwhoepisodes #classictv #classictelevision #scifi #sciencefiction #classicsciencefiction #classicscifi #vintagesciencefiction #vintagescifi #sylvestermccoy #tombaker #britishtv #britishtelevision #englishtv

  8. Here’s my customary May the 4th Doctor Who picture.

  9. Very belatedly watching the 1990 documentary “Hyperland” about hypertext, starring Douglas Adams (who wrote it) and Tom Baker. It originally aired on the BBC just as my husband and I were starting as undergraduate students at St Andrews. youtu.be/cyAQgK7BkA8 #TV #DouglasAdams #TomBaker #DoctorWho #Hypertext #Computing #History

  11. @nocontextwho
The second-best Doctor Who moment ever.

  12. 21st March 1981. In the shadow of the towering radio telescope, a body lies crumpled and broken. The curly-haired man, dressed in a burgundy coat and a ridiculously long scarf, is the Doctor, and he is dying.

“It’s the end, but the moment has been prepared for…”

You can keep your CGI firework displays. Forty-five years on, this is still the best regeneration.

  14. 70s Doctor Who had *excellent* alien jungle sets. One of the better aspects of "Planet of Evil".

Way better than Star Trek TOS "Planet Hell". And better than using locations, which don't look alien enough. Great stuff!

Happy Birthday, Tom – you will always be *my Doctor.*

  21. Jelly Babies all round — it’s Tom Baker’s birthday! Frankly, that alone should qualify as a public holiday.

  24. #tombaker Doctor Who is not necessarily the cure for old age nihilism, but sure helps pass the time.
