I’ve been watching “The Prisoner” on the #CriterionChannel. I’d only ever seen a few episodes on old VHS copies. It looks fantastic remastered.
It’s such a masterfully weird show about surveillance and individuality.
Anyway, I’m only on ep 4, but happy to discuss #ThePrisoner with folks.

Back in 1982, I'd just returned from a trip to Portmeirion when I switched on the television and saw an advert for ITV's Best of British season featuring a snippet from the opening titles of The Prisoner.
My first thought was, "What a coincidence!" My second was, "Please don't let it be The Girl Who Was Death."
So, naturally, they showed The Girl Who Was Death. Quite possibly the least representative episode they could have chosen. 44 years ago today.

Try watching "The Prisoner". It's a short series, but a truly classic one. Filmed (although they don't admit it until the final episode) in Portmeirion. Well, the interiors were filmed in a studio.The Internet Archive has most or all of it. Here's a link to the first episode.
