#News content makes users of #Facebook and #Instagram less happy. And when users click the link, they are gone. Meta wants to maximize time spent with Meta (to sell more #ads), not send users to other pages.

News lobbyists misunderstood the value of news for Meta. The government believed the lobbyists. The result is a disaster.
