I've been having a hard time getting myself to draw lately, and one of those barriers, as silly as it may seem, is just putting on a drawing glove. The thin black ones you see everywhere are made of lycra or lycra/nylon which is very uncomfortable for me!! I'm trying a cotton one now, and while it's a bulkier, I'm hoping it'll also be comfier and maybe cooler :bunnypeek: Fingers crossed lol

I have a small obsession with designing and building easels. I do use them myself but there's also something really satisfying in their concept.

Here's one design I've actually made several of and used a lot. It's a little table-top A-frame with adjustable clamp. Glue & dowel assembly.

Made the knob using my drill press as a lathe. A stainless steel bolt is inside.

Never found a good source for metal brackets for the leg. Or any decent way to make them.

I've started using Aseprite recently and it's making pixelart fun! At least it gets out of the way. Procreate and photoshop are great at what they do but having an app tailor-made for one use case makes such a difference. photoshop doesn't even have onion- skinning!!! #arttools #pixelart

I gotta have my pool noodle and bolster foam. They're not pretty, but they work for me. Add to that a rotating keyboard, and I'm set. I just can't set aside these indispensable tools.

It may seem rather unpolished to prop up my iPad this way, but I’ve used these makeshift tools for several years now, and I can’t find anything that substitutes for all of them they way I use them!

Just as a few people asked after my last post: this is the lovely Rotring Art Pen.
I'm still posting from my covid sickbed, so not the nicest photos, I know, haha! But who needs good backgrounds when we can stare at stationary? ❤️
I love a full dip pen, but the art pen acts like a fountain pen. Cartridge-filled. It's super convenient for on-the-go (or sickbed) drawing with no fear of spilled ink! And it feels lovely to use.
