Gel plate printing meets Impressionism tutorial

If you have acrylic paint, wax crayons/oil pastels and gelatine in the house you can give it a try within hours.
Recipe for 1200 ml (30*40*1cm) long lasting plate:
Gelatine: 180 g
Water: 600 ml
Glycerin: 300 ml
(Isopropal)Alcohol: 300 ml
And a baking sheet or prep a shadow box frame from a furniture store
...or get a ready made gel print from the art store. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Last night, I turned on https://www.rte.ie/radio/lyricfm/vespertine/ , picked a colour palette, a very muted one at that, and just went with it. Will probably collage bits together. But I think it's just too "flat" and calls for some more saturated bits. Thoughts?

I like all his Gel Plate Technique Tutorials in his channel. It is an inspiration to do more than just grungy backgrounds with gel monoprinting plates.

He is one of the rare sources to really inspire to get or make a #gelPlate and dabble in #monoprinting.
