Dis Masto, je recherche d'ici vendredi des articles sourcés (ou des sources direct) sur les biais sexistes, racistes etc. des LLM (principalement) et IA de génération images (en bonus).
J'ai plus trop les cuillères de chercher moi-même et j'ai des gens à qui présenter ça samedi pour prendre des mesures dans une asso.
Anglais ok, francais encore mieux pour les articles.Le partage fait disparaître la dissonnace cognitive des gauchos pro IA (on peut toujours rêver non ?)

Something that should not be a hot take.
I don’t want to read or engage with AI things because I just think human-made things are better, full stop. I like seeing the little flaws in the stitching because it reminds me it was made with human hands.

A friend asked me today "wait, what's the ethical issue you have with LLMs?" and hoo boy is there no way to concisely provide that info without sounding like a raging conspiracy theorist. It's all pretty well documented and supported by fact, it just sure sounds like it shouldn't be! If that were true wouldn't everyone know it and also be horrified instead of enamored with these cool new toys?? Wouldn't it!??

I don't care if some readers "aren't bothered." If books that left ChatGPT prompts inside are getting 5⭐️ reviews. If AI images become indistinguishable from human-made art. If "it's the future so get in or fall behind."
I'm still not going to use it. Ever.

OK, so when we form a mass movement against all things Slop and "automated bureaucracy", what's a catchy name?
Of course the same movement should also be anti-genocide, pro-equality, anti-racist, anti-colonialist etc. etc.
I try to come up with stuff that centers humans etc., but those were all taken already.

I'm looking for a non-LLM chatbot or chatbot framework. The problem is all of the pre-LLM stuff that was halfway decent is sort of hard to find now because of... *gestures vaguely*
Does anyone have any recommendations? I understand any decent solution may need to be built by hand.

A director at work reached out to me, asking if I was interested in giving a talk promoting the use of GitHub copilot (I was asked because I had been enrolled in an optional GitHub copilot training series, even though I never attended any of the trainings).
I am, explicitly anti-llm, and I said as much, citing quality, plagiarism, their resource usage, etc.
Interestingly, this person said he found this perspective of interest to him because he hadn’t heard of these concerns before. He said he’d schedule time for us to go over this more in-depth. I hope this was something said in good faith.Now, lazyweb, what sources do you have for a lot of these concerns and claims? Like, where does the claim that “a 100-200 word response from ChatGPT uses about 2 water bottles of water” come from?
That Microsoft paper about how llms make us think less critically is also great, and I already have a link to that. -
