Great. Now those gamers should get mad at open source emulator devs who make it hard to play old games without running code they gleefully sloppify.

I'm exhausted from devs in the gaming space plugging their ears. LMMs haven't existed a decade, yet the case against them is clear. They won't get better & can't be justified, but ppl just. Won't. Listen.

I just discovered that #Flycast can emulate the #Dreamcast microphone so I can play #Seaman, and I am **over the moon** happy!! I haven't played this game since I was a teenager!

It can also emulate the Samba De Amigo maracas--kinda awkward with a controller, but maybe there're USB or Bluetooth controllers that work better?

I need to try connecting a mouse and keyboard too. Maybe typing of the dead works?

Oh, and the rumble pack works, and you can have it display the VMU screen!! 🤩

It's an AWESOME #Dreamcast emulator though! Can handle 2x resolution, with xBRZ texture upscaling!

Sadly--though #RetroArch is capable of passing the microphone through to cores, and #Flycast can emulate two VMU slots per controller--it doesn't seem to support the microphone accessory for talking to Seaman! 🙁

Also, #retroachievements aren't working either 😔

I got #Rocknix installed on my #RetroidPocket5. But it's #PSP emulator doesn't accept .7z files so I've got to decompress my whole collection and convert them to .chd files. Also, the Dreamcast .chd files I built from redumped bin+cues aren't compatible with #FlyCast so I've got to convert all of those to .gdi then re-chd them. I hope Launch ox doesn't lose all my favorites when I switch the files 😖

Bin gerade auch mit meiner #Dreamcast Anwendung vorwärts gekommen. Das abspielen der #CDDA Tracks funktioniert so, wie ich das erwarte, wenn man es auf der echten #Hardware laufen lässt. Im #Emulator, in diesem Fall #Flycast, funktioniert es nicht richtig. Mal einen Bugreport einreichen, bzw. vielleicht auch mal in den Quellcode reinschauen und ggf. einen Patch einreichen. Mal schauen.

Один из любимых мною файтингов - Dead or Alive 2. Познакомился с этой игрой ещё в нулевых на консоли Sega Dreamcast. Ох, какое великолепное было время то! Графика в то время меня сильно поражала. Да и сейчас смотрится на высоте. Люблю порой возвращаться к старым играм. Есть в этом что-то очаровательное. Особенно на фоне сегодняшних игр. Сейчас как-то игры выпускают недоделанными, обещая патчами всё залатать через какое-то время. А потом ещё цельную игру на DLC поделить. Раньше было проще, что ли? Выпускали сразу полный и рабочий продукт. Не скажу, конечно, что мне вообще не нравятся современные игры. Что-то, конечно же, нравится, но редко. Времена меняются, и это нормально. Ну или это типичное ворчание олдскульного игрока. :)

Good news: the latest Nvidia driver for Windows should fix a longstanding issue with the Flycast core - it could crash when selecting 'Close Content' if you were using the Vulkan video driver. With the latest Nvidia drivers that seems to be fixed! #Libretro #RetroArch #Flycast
