The more I think about it, the more it feels like the genAI "artists" are really trying to push out actual artists not just for clout and/or money, not just because they don't have the skills to make art, buy also for percieved control. By this, I mean they see art as nothing but something to sell and therefore they should be in control of it. I mean, why else would anyone try to sell it as though it was hand drawn by themselves? I get snake oil salespeople have been a think since the dawn of time, but I swear these people are somehow even worse. They come into artist communities like they are so much more suoerior to the real artists because they know how to type on a keyboard and then get pissed when the community isn't a fan of this "tool" most commonly used by art thieves to "fix" a drawing or strsight up stealing an art style that gets very poorly imitated by said "tool". It's very similar, IMO, to a thing that was happening a few months back on tiktok where knockoff bag sellers were selling their stuff by falsely advertising that companies like Lululemon were just buying these cheapo bags and slapping the logo on, so you should just buy from them instead. That kind of competition killing just to make more money and push everyone else out. Except in this case, it's trying to monetize abd kill off a hobby that requires skill. All of this sounded a lot better written in my head, but unlike serial genAI LLM users, this all came from my own thoughts, opinions, and life experiences. #antigenai #genai #art -
Fell for a #genai image. Found this specific blouse and skirt I was gonna reference for a character of a project I have been working on and mostly off for a long time, only to find it's AI.
Top button knot things are inconsistent and these strips that go all the way around towards the bottom look convincing at first glance but end up being inconsistent on closer look. If you were to try to follow where they'd go, they wouldn't line up in the image. Also, the "middle" buttony things don't work and are clearly mishapen and such. Harder to tell since the image is blurry.

It’s only ever paid lip service to it and has used the veneer of justice to only meet out punishment to the already disenfranchised while it lets those who already have power off with a slap on the wrist- this also is authoritarianism imho.
