The Iranian news agency #Tasnim published documentation claiming to show the downed drone, reporting it was a "Kochav" (Hermes 900) type drone shot down near the city of Khorramabad. Last week, Iran shot down another Israeli "Kochav" drone using surface-to-air missiles. Iranian broadcasting authority reported it was intercepted by air defense systems in Isfahan.

"As a transwoman, I have often wondered if there were others like me in Ancient Mythology. Were there ancient deities who were trans, non-binary, or gender non-conforming? Turns out there were. Ancient Greece had a prominent culture of gender fluidity, as did many other ancient societies.
"#Aphroditus was sometimes referred to as the male form of Aphrodite. Statues of him showed him with a female figure, breasts, narrow waist, long hair, women’s clothing, but also with a penis and testes. He is said to have originated on the island of Cyprus, and arrived in Athens in the 4th century BCE. He was sometimes celebrated there in #transvestite rites. It is said the festivals allowed 'women to act the part of men, and men to put on woman’s clothing and play the part of women' (from Wikipedia). He was definitely gender #NonConforming.
"Hermaphroditus was the son of Hermes, messenger of the gods, and Aphrodite, Goddess of love. His name is a combination of both of his parents. From Wikipedia: 'According to Ovid, he was born a remarkably handsome boy with whom the water nymph Salmacis fell in love with and prayed to be united forever. The gods granted the request, so that he and the nymph became united in such a manner that the two could not be called a man or a woman, but were both' (Metamorphoses IV, pp. 274-388 , 8 AD). Hermaphroditus is the god of hermaphrodites and effeminates. I believe in today’s society, Hermaphroditus would be a modern day pre-operative transwoman.
"#Loki, a Norse god, also called the trickster god, would many times disguise himself as a woman. Some myths said that Loki was bisexual. Loki was an accomplished shape-shifter and according to legend has also appeared as a salmon, a mare, a fly, and of course a woman.
"Ovid’s Metamorphoses (Met. 9, pp. 666-797) mentions #Iphis and #Ianthe. Iphis was born a girl, but her mother passed her off as a boy so that she wouldn’t be killed. The name was fitting for a boy and a girl, so that wasn’t too much of a problem. According to the myth, Iphis as a 15 year old boy, fell in love with another girl, Ianthe. Iphis’s mother appealed to the Goddess Isis for help. Isis transformed Iphis into a male before Iphis and Ianthe got married. I believe this may have been the first sex change. At least they ended up happily ever after according to the myth.
"#Ikapati was a #GreatMother Goddess of the Tagalog society in the #Philippines. She was a protector of crops, animals that were domesticated and, according to myth, gave mankind agriculture. It was said that she appeared many times dressed in male clothes. This would have made sense as she was frequently seen in the fields. In many indigenous cultures, including in the Americas, it was accepted that more than two genders were socially and spiritually accepted. These gender non-conforming individuals were seen as people who were very spiritual, and many became leaders and healers in their societies. In Native American culture, many who were called #TwoSpirit became shamans.

Callahan, PhD., Between XX and XY: Intersexuality and the Myth of Two Sexes. From the book: 'On October 10, 1970, the day she was born, she was named Dorothy Maree Alaniz–a baby girl. Curiously, though, no one filled out a birth certificate that day. When the certificate was finally filed on November 5, the name on it was Rudolph Andrew Alaniz. Within less than one month after her birth, this girl became a boy.' The book is available from Amazon and other book sources."

Redebeitrag zur Kundgebung „Männertag abschaffen – Kundgebung gegen Sexismus und patriarchale Gewalt“. Gehalten am 14.05.2026 in Dresden (Japanisches Palais)
Dresden: Eine Gruppe läuft mit lauter Musik und NS-verherrlichenden Rufen in Richtung Alaunpark. Bautzen: Dreizehn Deutsche Männer greifen drei afghanische Jugendliche an. Sächsische Schweiz: An der Bastei wird am Nachmittag ein jüdisches Ehepaar durch eine Gruppe von fünf Männern mit „Sieg Heil“ begrüßt. Rathen: Eine Gruppe von Männern aus dem Umfeld der neonazistischen Kampfsportszene in Wurzen beleidigt eine Zugbegleiterin und weitere Fahrgäste einer S-Bahn und greift sie schließlich unvermittelt an. Durch den Angriff, bei dem die Täter auch Glasflaschen und Biergläser einsetzen, werden mehrere Personen teils erheblich verletzt. Pfaffendorf: Die Polizei geht einem Hinweis auf ruhestörenden Lärm nach. Am Einsatzort entpuppt sich die Situation als Party von Neonazis. Die Beamten werden unvermittelt von 20 bis 25 Personen mit Gläsern und weiteren Gegenständen beworfen. Unter „Sieg Heil“ Rufen bedrohen sie die Polizisten mit Holzlatten und Stahlrohren.
Diese Liste an Vorfällen gehört zur Bilanz eines Tages: Einem freien Donnerstag im Mai, der hier in der Gegend als sogenannter Männertag begangen wird. Wohlgemerkt ist es die Bilanz nur eines Tages und zwar dem Männertag aus dem Jahr 2020. Und es sind auch nur die Vorfälle, die den Weg in die Presse gefunden haben. In anderen Jahren ist es oft ähnlich – und das schon seit vielen Jahren beziehungsweise seit Jahrzehnten. Nur selten hat es so sehr geregnet, dass der Männertag ins Wasser gefallen ist. Viel zu oft war blendendes Ausflugswetter und entsprechend lang sind die Listen mit den Vorfällen. Das Muster ist dabei oft dasselbe: Männergruppen, meist solche mit neonazistischer Überzeugung, fühlen sich an diesem Tag besonders ermutigt, der Grütze in ihren Köpfen freien Lauf zu lassen. Gruppendynamik, Sonne und Alkohol senken die Hemmschwelle. In der Masse mit vermeintlich Gleichgesinnten fühlt man sich mutig und sucht nach Gelegenheiten, um das eigene Ego zu streicheln. Das Resultat ist in vielen Fällen Gewalt. Sie richtet sich gegen die bekannten Feindbilder. Sie ist mal rassistisch, mal antisemitisch, mal anti-links. Sie ist gegen die gerichtet, die diesem Stumpfsinn nicht tatenlos zu sehen wollen. Oder einfach zufällig in der Nähe sind. Sie hinterlässt Verletzungen, Narben und Leid.
Dieses Muster prägt diesen Tag schon viel zu lange. Wir sind zuversichtlich, dass es nicht so bleibt: Wir haben keinen Bock auf No-Go-Areas: Weder auf nationale, noch auf patriarchale. Wir haben keinen Bock auf überkommene Traditionen, die darauf abzielen andere Menschen abzuwerten. Wir haben keinen Bock auf irre Bräuche, die das „Nach-unten-treten“ rechtfertigen. Wir haben Bock auf einen freien Tag – aber eben keinen, in dem mehr als die Hälfte der Gesellschaft dreimal überlegen muss, ob sie sich überhaupt vor die Tür trauen kann. Es ist an der Zeit, so einen Scheißtag nicht länger hinzunehmen.
Männertag muss sterben, damit wir leben können.

Seattle Statement on Glyphosate and Public Health
This statement was finalized and adopted at the Seattle Glyphosate Symposium, which took place 25-26 March, 2026 in Seattle, Washington. The statement’s authors are listed below.
Glyphosate, a broad-spectrum herbicide (plant killer) typically marketed as Roundup, is the world’s most widely used pesticide. The diversity and magnitude of glyphosate uses in agriculture, in forestry and in industrial, commercial, residential and municipal settings have grown dramatically since first approval in 1974.
Humans are exposed to glyphosate through direct spraying and other skin contact, through occupational or residential proximity to sprayed areas, through exposure to dust and through consumption of food and water contaminated with glyphosate residues. Food is the main route of exposure for most people while occupational exposures are typically the highest.
National and international biomonitoring surveys detect glyphosate in samples collected from 70-80% of all people examined, including children.
Glyphosate and glyphosate-based herbicides (GBHs) harm human health and can cause cancer. The comprehensive evidence supports this conclusion, with the strongest epidemiological evidence linking exposure to increased risk of non-Hodgkin lymphoma, a cancer of the lymphatic system.
There is additional evidence from human and/or animal studies that glyphosate and GBHs increase the risk of multiple adverse health effects in addition to cancer, including diseases of the kidney and liver, and impacts to the reproductive, endocrine, neurological, and other metabolic systems. Children, infants and fetuses are the most susceptible.
Further strong evidence finds that glyphosate and GBHs cause genetic damage, oxidative stress, and hormonal disruption — biological changes that can set disease in motion. Our understanding of glyphosate’s ability to cause these changes has developed from multiple lines of evidence in animal, human and in vitro studies.
Additional research is needed to better understand the full extent of glyphosate’s and GBH’s effects on human health and the underlying mechanisms involved, such as epigenetic alterations, microbiome disruption and endocrine effects.
The evidence that glyphosate and GBHs harm human health at levels of current use is now so strong that no additional delays in regulation of glyphosate can be justified. Regulatory agencies in countries around the world should treat glyphosate and GBHs as hazardous, as some countries have started to do. Agencies should act without further delay to limit their use, or eliminate them if legally required, to protect public health.
Preventive measures to reduce human exposures while handling and applying glyphosate are accessible, proven effective, and inexpensive. These actions should be implemented without delay while research continues.
Safeguards must be implemented to ensure that any reduction in glyphosate use does not result in regrettable increases in the use of other equally or more harmful pesticides, for example paraquat.
Glyphosate is not the only pesticide that has been inadequately evaluated or regulated. The approval processes globally for all existing and new pesticides are weak and fail to protect human health, especially the health of infants and children. This system needs to be fundamentally revised. Regulatory agencies need to make pesticide approval decisions based on a more comprehensive and unbiased suite of health effects data. If pesticide use is approved, these agencies must closely monitor use, exposure data and harmful outcomes, especially for susceptible and highly exposed groups. The costs of obtaining such data must be borne by the pesticide industry, but the testing must be conducted by laboratories and organizations independent of the pesticide industry and free from financial conflicts of interest (COI), defined as funding from industries and trade associations that have a financial stake in the outcome.
Risk-assessment methods and processes used to evaluate pesticides must be updated to use best-available science, including: using transparent, consistent and unbiased approaches to evaluate all the evidence; accounting for human variability and susceptible populations such as fetuses, infants and children, and highly exposed populations such as farmworkers; accounting for cumulative exposures and risks for pesticides that contribute to common adverse health outcomes; and identifying adverse health effects and risks at all exposure levels. This is clearly not the case now.
All scientific evidence used in pesticide evaluations must be publicly available, not labeled proprietary or restricted to active ingredients, and must comply with laws protecting human subjects in research. Financial COI, which do not include government funding, must be addressed throughout the research and regulatory processes, including accounting for bias from industry-funded studies, and ensuring that individuals with financial COI are barred from participating in scientific advisory panels and other bodies that formally review scientific data.
Ultimately, pesticide use must be reduced overall, and eliminated to the extent possible. This is consistent with the United Nations Global Biodiversity Framework global target to reduce pesticide risks by 50% by 2030 relative to 2010–2020 and replace pesticides with safer, more sustainable pest control systems that rely more on prevention than treatment. This is imperative for the health of humans, ecosystems and future generations.

Brandmauer – welche Brandmauer?
Die Auseinandersetzung um die sog. Brandmauer hat etwas Gespenstisches in diesen Tagen.
Es wird darüber debattiert, ob man mit der AfD zusammenarbeiten dürfe, die doch in den Umfragen mittlerweile vor der CDU/CSU liege und die man doch deswegen nicht einfach von der institutionellen Ebene der parlamentarischen Demokratie ausschließen könne. Gleichzeitig übernehmen CDU/CSU und SPD Schritt für Schritt Positionen aus dem Gedankengut eben jener Partei, mit der man keinesfalls zusammenarbeiten, geschweige denn koalieren – Schreck lass nach – will.
Zu glauben, man müsse nur selbst möglichst ausländerfeindlich sprechen und agieren, würde die AfD aus Sicht der Wählerinnen und Wähler überflüssig machen oder halbieren, wie es Friedrich Merz ganz im Stil von Donald Trump angekündigt hatte, war und ist ein gefährlicher Irrtum. Das Gegenteil geschieht. Man fühlt sich im rechtsextremen Lager bestätigt und bestärkt und erhöht den Druck und senkt von Mal zu Mal die Hemmschwellen. Das wird man doch wohl noch sagen dürfen in diesem Land. Das leichtfertige Hantieren mit nicht bestätigten Zahlen (Ausreise von Syrern) und falschen oder bewusst unbestimmten Begrifflichkeiten (Stadtbild) ist das Gegenteil einer nüchternen und vertrauenserweckenden Politik. Und der schleichende Verlust von Vertrauen geht dem Machtverlust stets voraus. Vertrauen gewinnt man nicht mit markigen Sprüchen und nicht einzuhaltenden Ankündigungen. Vertrauen zu verlieren geht sehr schnell.
Vertrauen kann nur gewinnen und bewahren, wer zuhört, nicht mit Sorgenfalten auf der Stirn in von kommerziellen TV-Produktionsgesellschaften inszenierten sogenannten Publikumsgesprächen, sondern im Alltag mit gelungener Politik. Die sog. Spritpreisbremse ist aktuell das krasse Gegenteil.
Aktives Zuhören schließt die glaubwürdige Bereitschaft ein, Irrtümer einzugestehen und Kompromisse einzugehen. Dabei darf und muss es Inhalte und Formen geben, die nicht zur Disposition stehen.
Dazu gehört z. B. der Respekt vor der Privatsphäre des politischen Gegenübers und die Einhaltung parlamentarischer Spielregeln. Lt. einer Statistik des Deutschlandfunks hat die AfD Fraktion in der vorigen Legislaturperiode des Bundestags zwei Drittel aller Ordnungsrufe erhalten. Pöbeleien mit dem Ziel der Einschüchterung des politischen Gegners gehörten schon zum Repertoire der Nazis und ihrer Schlägertrupps in der Weimarer Republik. Schon vergessen?
Zu den nicht verhandelbaren Inhalten gehören die mit der sog. Ewigkeitsgarantie ausgestatteten Artikel 1 und 20 des Grundgesetzes. Das sind die Artikel, die nicht einmal mit einer Zweidrittel-Mehrheit geändert werden dürfen (Art. 79 Abs. 3 GG). Dazu gehören unter anderem die Achtung der Menschenwürde nach Art. 1 Abs. 1 GG sowie der Status Deutschlands als Demokratie und föderale Republik. Auch das Rechtsstaats- und das Sozialstaatsprinzip gehören dazu. Da braucht es keine Brandmauer zum Bestandsschutz. Es reicht der Beweis des ersten Anscheins, dass bestimmte Forderungen aus dem AfD Wahlprogramm, wie z. B. die Forderung nach Remigration offensichtlich mit der Achtung der Menschenwürde nicht vereinbar sind.
Wer Zweifel daran hat, dem ist die Risaer Parteitagsrede von Alice Weidel mitsamt dem euphorischen Jubel auf YouTube zur Ansicht zu empfehlen.
Eine Bundesregierung, die nur wenige Monate später der Einrichtung von Abschiebezentren im Ausland nicht nur zustimmt, sondern als politischen Erfolg verkauft, heizt das Klima, in dem die AfD gedeiht, weiter an. Der berüchtigte Brandstifter im Feuerwehranzug kommt einem in den Sinn. Da braucht es keine Brandmauer. Es sei denn, man will sich selber einmauern.
Auf die AfD und ihre Repräsentanten zuzugehen, klingt für manchen aufrechten Demokraten zunächst vielleicht absurd. Aber man sollte nicht zulassen, dass die AfD sich als Opfer stilisiert. Also gilt es, die Themen herauszufinden, die zutiefst demokratisch und sinnvoll sind, bei denen notwendige Entscheidungen im Widerspruch zur offiziellen AfD Programmatik stehen und sie sich trotzdem nicht verweigern kann. Mir fallen dabei z. B. Initiativen zur Demokratisierung und Effizienzsteigerung der EU ein: Abschaffung des Einstimmigkeitsprinzips, Reduzierung der Zahl der Kommissare, Verkleinerung und Stärkung des EU-Parlaments etc. Die Außen- und Sicherheitspolitik wäre ein weiteres Politikfeld, bei dem es sich lohnen würde. Statt einer sinnlosen Brandmauer also das Gesetz des Handelns zurück zu gewinnen und die AfD und ihre Ideologen inhaltlich in die Enge treiben. Das wäre ein lohnenswertes Arbeitsfeld für Politprofis und ihre Berater. Man kommt nicht in die Offensive, indem man die Forderungen des politischen Gegners – sei es auch nur in abgeschwächter Form – übernimmt. Auch vorauseilender Gehorsam, wie die misslungene „Kinder statt Inder“-Kampagne des CDU-Politikers Jürgen Rüttgers im Jahr 2000, machen deutlich, wie gefährlich das Fischen in trüben Gewässern ist.
Die Brandmauer ist insbesondere in einem Land mit einer leidvollen Mauergeschichte keine gute Idee, zumal wir wissen, dass jede Mauer irgendwann fällt. Mit Mauern kommt man in der Politik nicht in die Offensive. Wem nichts einfällt, rate ich immer noch, sich das Kinderinterview mit dem AfD–Co-Vorsitzenden Timo Chrupalla auf YouTube anzuschauen – kein Lieblingsgedicht, aber ein Lieblingsdichter, ah ja, Heinrich Heine. Denk ich an Deutschland in der Nacht, …….
