I wanted to know whether AI assistants actually read our site, so I grepped the nginx logs for the user agents. The numbers looked encouraging:

The companies publish their IP ranges
This is the part most people do not know exists. Each file is a list of CIDR prefixes. Checking a log line against them is twenty lines of code and no dependencies:

I got a call this week from Mark Swanson's phone# but it was Germaine; yes, you can guess the rest.
She said he died happy; doing software (legacy) WFH, he had a regularly scheduled cat-in-lap-nap mid-day, highlight of his and cat's day; he never woke, Monday week (12th).
(They'd moved to Mich. to be near grandchildren a decade ago, so my contact had been limited. It took them over a week to break into Mark's cellphone.)
We had a good long chat; I filled her in some mutual connections. -

I am always amazed at members of Parliament in Lithuania squabbling about sums under a million euro (or even under 10 million), esp. when they're looking to tax someone.
Our defense budget is nearly €5 billion.
I wonder if these guys know that a billion is a thousand times more than a million?
And so taxing this or that and then gaining an extra €20 million is... a drop in the ocean even if we're just considering defense - let alone everything else.

I had a close friend who is really shitty about nonbinary people and has been for years, we had a bit of a falling out after I called him out on it regarding a friend of ours (not even myself, though he was really shitty to me when I came out to him too) for refusing to use their preferred pronouns and even mocking the entire concept of not being male or female. After that, we just quit talking regularly and eventually I built up enough self-respect that I quietly blocked him on social media without saying a word and purposefully did not give him my new phone number when I switched carriers.
Expelling toxic people who don't accept you for who and what you are is ALWAYS the right choice. If their heart changes later, you can reconsider, but until then you don't need to subject yourself to fuckheads.
