Katherine Legge is an absolute mad lady for wanting to casually attempt The Double (Indy 500 and Coke 600 in the same day) and I'm totally on board with it. I think it'd be neat to have a woman attempt it and her reasoning of "Why Not?" makes sense to me. She races in both series and has the sponsorship to get a ride in both races, so why shouldn't she attempt it?

Welp, I hunkered down today and did all of the 4 final units of my personal finance online course for my school as well as the final test (I got 1 wrong in 30 questions) this morning and afternoon so now I don't have to worry about it at all this final week in school where I will have some final exams and assignments in other classes to worry about.

Swamp Thing (1982) isn't a great film, it's obviously so low budget with bad suit/prosthetic work and repetitive clumsy action, but I adore Adrienne Barbeau and Ray Wise and there's certainly novelty value, especially if like me Swamp Thing is one of your favorite comic book characters.

One time at a backyard show as a teenager I was handed a mic and told to improvise lyrics over a generic punk riff, so I just started yelling about how fuckable both Mulder and Scully are until they stopped because his parents were there.

I believe that kindness towards convicts or ex-convicts is an important virtue in life that I try to live with the ex-cons I know in my building, but I've considered joining a penpal program writing to incarcerated people to go further and maybe provide a little distraction for them if nothing else.

Rocking the best post-Pixies album Frank Black ever made, the classic Teenager of the Year which critics for some reason hated when it first came out but it rightfully consider a highlight of his career now.

Watching an episode of MTV's 120 Minutes from 1990 and enjoying myself completely, even the fuzz and blur of a degraded VHS rip. Pretty much every song they've played so far has been a total banger from the era.

I've started to watch The Terror and really love this cast. Got two alumni of Rome including Caesar himself, got Jared Harris who is such and MVP of prestige cable going back to the days of Mad Men. Just excellent.

The day I have waited for since streaming became a thing: we can now stream season 1 of Tales from the Crypt on AMC+ and Shudder. Hell yeah, I'm gonna start my rewatch of the series this weekend, huge, huge fan of all anthology shows let alone this goliath of the genre.

During commercials and caution flags in the #daytona500 today I've been listening to Electric Version by The New Pornographers cause I've been on a big kick of #2000s #Canadian #indierock this week, consumed a great deal and I'm better for having done so.
-
What I watched the last couple weeks in the build up to the #Daytona500 to make up for the fact "Speedweeks" is now just half a week.
1992 IROC at Daytona, 1988 Daytona 500, 1991 Busch Grand National at Volusia (down the street from Daytona), 1998 #ARCA race at Daytona, 2000 Truck series race at Daytona.
I had planned to watch the 1998 Goody's Dash series race at Daytona but just didn't have time to fit it in.

The #ARCA race at #Daytona is about to start, in their first race as the official flagship of Toyota in the series Nitro Motorsports wins the pole with Gus Dean. I'm definitely interested in seeing how they do since taking over Venturini Motorsports. It isn't their first season, they ran a single car effort all year last year out of the Venturini shop to get their feet wet, but their first as a mega multicar team with six full entries on track today.

My Pre #Daytona500 hype campaign continues today as I watch the first ever Truck series race at Daytona from the year 2000. It was kind of a disaster of a race that only had like 8 Trucks finish on the lead lap because so many wrecked out, but it's still neat to see some of these youngins who'd be a big deal like Greg Biffle, Kurt Busch, Jamie McMurray

I was rooting for Casey Mears, whom I watched for so long while I was growing into an adult, to somehow have an underdog qualifying run in the 150 but thought it was over after he lost a couple laps stuck in the grass. I shouldn't have doubted him though, he made a bold ass move when he had to and made it happen. Very happy.
-
In the run up to the #Daytona500 I'm watching a variety of different series races at Daytona in the past. I've done a 1992 IROC race, now I'm watching the 1998 ARCA series season opener, gonna work on some of the three national series next, maybe go back as far as the #80s for one or two of them.

My inner child gets so excited about seeing them interview THE Ron Fellows on this #Rolex24 broadcast. A childhood hero of mine, one of greatest Canadians to live.

Even if I dislike Corey Lajoie quite a bit, he's so whiny and entitled, I love the trend of the bigger teams entering a 4th car for Daytona to make it a bigger entry list.
They haven't announced a driver, but RCR is supposed to join RFK with a 4th entry, either driven by Austin Hill or Jesse Love, and I'm sure 23XI will have a 4th for Corey Heim too.

I love the Daytona Road Course, still the best and most challenging of all road courses built into and incorporating oval tracks. Watching a prototype rip through the banked turns is always wild, even these L3s I'm watching right now catching up on this VP Racing Sportscar Challenge series season openers.

Used the phrase "unapologetic fan of the Insane Clown Posse" today to describe myself and my preference for Faygo Diet Cola when I'm shopping at the grocery store near my house.

Nobody can stop me from watching low budget #documentary movies or series on #Tubi whether #truecrime or #ufo #conspiracy it is my guiltiest of pleasures

Because of woke directors can't even creepily obsess over their actresses and pelt them with live birds anymore.
