Invasion Of The Animal People, 1959, is a very bad movie. They couldn't decide if they wanted to do a saquatch movie or an aliens movie, so they did both, or neither. There are no animal people, and no likeable characters. Serious students of bad movies only. Free on Tubi.

The badness is part of the fun of old B-movies, but The Unknown Terror, 1957, takes it a little too far. It has the usual sexism and racism, and adds a storyline about a guy with a bum leg that is trying to be uplifting, but fails. It doesn't even have a good monster. Only for very serious students of bad cinema.
-
From Hell It Came is a terrible B-movie from 1957. The tree monster is kind of fun, but overall the movie is so wildly racist and sexist that I can't recommend. For serious students of bad cinema only.
-
It Came From Beneath The Sea is an amazing 1955 B-movie. The stop-motion giant octopus is wonderful, but the monster is good old sexism.

Today I discovered that there is a 1980s Greydon Clark movie, starring Joe Don Baker [1], which has not been riffed by RiffTrax (or MST3K, or Cinematic Titanic), and I'm frankly shocked.
If it's not one of the four new episodes of MST3K the RiffTrax guys are doing, I'm going to be some disappointed.
[1] The same #cinematic pairing that resulted in Final Justice (1985), A.K.A. "Mitchell Goes to Malta", some of the finest #cheese ever #riffed.

The Yesterday Machine, release date unknown but it's early 1960s, is a truly bad movie. Think Plan 9 From Outer Space, but worse in every way. I can only recommend it to serious students of bad cinema, but to those, I recommend it highly. No monsters, but a Nazi mad scientist talks a lot.
Free on Tubi, of course.

It felt like Smallville. Joseph (Nic Cage) is trying to keep teenage Jesus's identity and powers a secret. Jesus is learning how to use his healing power, which he discovers by accident after falling on a leper; his mere touch heals the guy.
There's a bit where teenage Jesus is chased by a hoard of zombie-like lepers asking to be healed. That made me LOL. #badMovies #GodAwfulMovies #movies

The God Awful Movies podcast inspired me to watch the new Nic Cage movie "The Carpenter's Son", which is loosely based on the gospel of Thomas. It's so bad it's been banned in some countries apparently. #badMovies #GodAwfulMovies #movies

@neonbubble I’ll see your Creepozoids and raise you Slave of the Cannibal God with Ursula Andress running around the jungle and doing quite a bit of screaming too.
“Slave of the Cannibal God (Italian title: La montagna del dio cannibale, literally The Mountain of the Cannibal God) is a 1978 Italian horror film starring Ursula Andress and Stacy Keach, with English dialogue, that was filmed in Sri Lanka (standing in for New Guinea). The film was banned in the U.K. until 2001 for its graphic violence and considered a "video nasty.".”
-
Random probably crappy movie time.
It's a post-apocaylptic horror set in the distant future of 1998.
Creepozoids. It stars B-movie scream queen Linnea Quigley, but then most films do.

The 80s synth music soundtrack so far is the star.

Three thrillers, three wildly different levels of nonsense: Warning Shot fumbles its own MacGuffin, The Vanished tries to turn grief into a twist puzzle, and Vindicta goes full bargain-bin Se7en clone with logic left at the door.

We're watching a 1985 movie called CaveGirl. It's supposed to be a comedy. It's so bad. The writing is so bad. The editing is so bad. The acting is so bad. Every single scene is so very, very bad.

Two haunted house movies, one shared delusion. The Haunting of Cottonwood and Girl on the Third Floor don’t build tension—they skip straight to the collapse and wonder why nobody’s scared.

Tonight's random movie is Waitress! from Troma, so we roughly know what to expect: all the plot, direction, and acting of an 80s porno without any sex scenes.
-
"The acting was as good as could be expected, given the wooden dialogue, bad direction and snails-pace editing. No, that's not true. The acting was also pretty bad."
Part of a review for the random movie we've decided to watch tonight: Nightmare City 2035.

OMG! We're watching Tom Cruise's The Mummy since my wife recently watched a YouTube video on a list of franchise-killingly #BadMovies. I didn't think it could be that bad.
It is.
So bad.
Not even 'fun time watching a bad movie' bad.
Unaware racists bad.
Just bad.
Badly ripping off gags from American Werewolf in London bad.
Worse than #Morbius bad.
#AfterEarth bad.
#BlackAdam bad.
So very "don't let a libertarian/scientologist make a movie without a studio reigning them in" bad.
Ouch!

Been a while since we just put on some random movie that Amazon Prime is convinced we'll like based on our terrible (but great) viewing history and, to be fair, it's started off so hilariously badly and so cheaply ripping off Star Wars that I already adore it.

You’d think that a movie called A Karate Christmas Miracle (2019) would be schizophrenic enough. In addition to its ill-advised mismatch of martial arts and holiday cheer, this one has a killer clown, a psychic law professor, and an obsessive-compulsive, self-taught karate kid That must have been quite the white Christmas, and I don’t mean snow either.

I don’t think you’re supposed to laugh with, let alone at, a film about Jesus Christ. Jesus (1999) didn’t just make me chuckle; it made me snigger, which feels even more wrong.

I've already seen ads for Spotify, Windows (10), GitHub, WhatsApp, Teams...
And it just keeps going!

I recommend reading the thread for an idea of the movie though.

This is one of my favourite movies of all time. I can't do it justice, so I'll post this review instead.

Run Sweetheart Run wants to be a feminist horror thriller. What it actually is? A cynical, mean-spirited pseudo-parody that ridicules the very causes it pretends to support. It’s Don’t Be a Menace meets #MeToo — minus the laughs, minus the integrity.

The Book of Henry is what happens when a child genius is written by adults who think they’re smarter than they are. It treats cancer like a plot point, child abuse like a side quest, and vigilante murder like emotional closure. Henry may be dying, but the movie itself is already brain-dead.

I'd watch it!
"The Apple" is near or at the top of my "How the hell did this movie ever get studio approval of the script, much less actually greenlighted and funded for production?". It's so bad it's ... well, it's something.

OMG we learned about 'The Day The Clown Cried" in film appreciation (Yeah I am nurse but those general ed requirements still have to be filled) this is the holy grail of legendary bad movies. Rumored to be so bad that Jerry Lewis buried it. This may eclipse Tommy Wiseau's "The Room" in terms of a true disaster. #jerrylewis #movies #badmovies

Whew, that was lucky.
I just saw that Tom Cruise is releasing another Mission Impossible movie in May.
Thank God, I was afraid I was going to run out of things to hate this spring.
I understand from the teaser the U.S. gifts him an aircraft carrier in this one. I'd like to say that's a patently ridiculous premise but then I remembered who's in charge of the DoD these days.

There's less than a day left to get in on this bit of #TTRPG hotness written by my friend Benjamin Gray and playtested, in part, by me!

You and your friends can remake the films that disappointed you, just like the pros do on popular #ActualPlay podcast "Roleplay Retcon." The only additional gaming equipment you need is a standard deck of playing cards!

So I mentioned I like bad movies. Since 2009, I've been reviewing them for my site, Triskaidekafiles. It's little known, but if you enjoy cheesy cinema, you MIGHT have run across it. I have seen some absolute trash movies that bring much pain, but also some delightful obscure hidden gems that are so bad they're good. I don't shy away from some of the bigger names either, but that's not so much the focus of the site. You gotta drop in a Jason Voorhees every so often, just to get the attention of the normies. Come for the Hellraiser, stay for the Winterbeast. I do a full plot run down, and some fun facts if applicable, and then some final thoughts. If you're familiar with MST3K, Joe Bob Briggs, and other horror hosted programming, you kinda get the idea of what sort of vibe you are in for with me.
Just todaaaaaaayesterday, I posted my latest in depth look, which is a bit more fantasy than horror, but it's my site, I review what I want. It was filmed in the early 90s in the forests of Florida, for a budget of $2000 and is so clearly a bunch of friends with a love of D&D having fun and making a fantasy movie. I often say that some of the best movies are the ones made with genuine good intentions, and for some reason, their reach just exceeds their grasp, be it skill, time, or money. But, you can often tell they were trying, real effort was put in, and when it is, even in the worst made movies, that charm can come through. Passion can carry a movie a long way with me, and Way Bad Stone hits that sweet spot of trying really hard, but not quite succeeding, although this one does a much better job than most, IMO.
If you want to read my rambly thoughts you can check it out here, and feel free to dig around for the 500 other reviews I've done https://www.triskaidekafiles.com/reviews/2025/3/13/way-bad-stone-1991
