Okay, so it's gone from bad to batshit crazy. My HVAC is not working right, and they are trying to put the blame on the climate. So they've given me a window unit.... but if the climate was to blame, wouldn't every unit in my development need a window unit?
They think they are dealing with an idiot.

So far, the stupid prizes are:
1. Yesterday I filed a complaint with the county.
2. Today I called CASA of Maryland to get more help. I'll remind you that I *am* an immigrant to the US. Yes, I have citizenship, but that does not change the fact that I immigrated here.

My current move-in experience has been bad.
How bad?? Here's a segment of what I sent to management:

Let's review what happened:1. The thermostat couldn't keep the correct temperature, and had to be replaced.
2. The dishwasher's lock was busted, and had to be replaced.
3. The dishwasher's pump was burned out, and it needs a new control board. (This is on order.)
4. The freezer did not have the slats keeping food from falling down. They've been added.
5. Now, the cherry on this shit sundae is that my clothes' washer was improperly hooked to its drain and spewed water all over the floor. (Emergency maintenance is here.)DID ANYONE INSPECT THIS APARTMENT BEFORE TURNING IT OVER??? DID THEY ACTUALLY DO THEIR JOB????
I'm utterly pissed.
Oh, and that's on top of maintenance not reading what I put into the access field and NEVER EVER contacting me prior to showing up, when I ask for a phone call or a text.

@sarahdalgulls idea: word based location system along the same lines, but instead of an algorithm there's just a database with a unique phrase for each location, and you can sell people the ability to change the words for their own (or any other) address like a domain name which is how you make money, and the whole point of it is that the one location that isn't up for sale is What Three Words head office, which is hard coded to #what #awful #wankers

Jebus, just got this email from #Uber. The bloody cheek.
Note the only problem with my "payment methods" was that UberEats took my money, their driver didn't bother to come to my street, much less my house, and 3 of their support agents said yes, I deserved a refund, and no, they couldn't give me one unless I used the Uber App on the cellphone that I do not own to request it -- even though I'd paid through their website.
I half want to check what they actually did - but I don't have an "account". I made one transaction, and they screwed it up.
Still waiting to see if my credit card dispute of the charges goes through.

in the sixties that was okay, but tv has improved, and this shit is intolerable.

#Awful used to mean something really good, similar to "awesome". But through overuse, it gradually ended up falling lower and lower on the spectrum, until it ended up meaning the opposite!
As a more recent example, the word #terrorism used to mean people with evil intentions using violence to disrupt a peaceful society, but the word is nowadays used to refer to anyone who stands up in support of justice, freedom, and human rights

For a few days, I drove a 2024 #Toyota. I'm afraid that all those #DriverAssist systems are a terrible cocktail.
Several times a day, the car would suddenly break for no reason. Dangerous! I turned that off, but after every restart, it was back on.
Changing lanes or overtaking was a struggle with the steering wheel. Lane keep!
And within a couple of days I started to rely on the automatic distance system. Toyota trained me not to break myself.
