6 months and three forks with a biological team.

2 days with #vibecode, including the protocol learning curve.

  3. @tuban_muzuru

Yeah, that's a very good call on your part.

I feel guilty when I burn high compute on trivia.
But on the other hand, I also structure my work around compute windows.

Interestingly, I use Sonnet for #vibecode as that's the default #ClaudeCode setting.
And I find it good enough.
I only had to use Opus for some hairy analytics/planning.

I should be more responsible with my burn, but it's hard to be the responsible one in the room when the people in my #doomscroll who should set example are clowns with chainsaws 😑

  5. This was also an experiment to see how far #AI could go. It worked well, but with 30 years of software development experience, I can verify the results and suggestions, and steer the AI if I see any issues with the architecture. If you "truly" vibe-code and have no prior experience in programming, your results may vary greatly.

  6. Next up:

    * update my websites. have lots of content that is waiting.

    * maybe #VibeCode a #Fluxbox replacement? I love Fluxbox, have been on it for years, but like the #WindowMaker #Dockapps, it is pretty much finished, and I worry it will eventually be unmaintained. Unfortunately, I am not aware of any similar stacking window managers. Of course, vibecoding an x11 window manager --- what could possibly go wrong? (Everything. Everything could go wrong.) So, we'll see how that goes.

For me #vibecode let's me focus on design and features...
    ...not the shovel work.

  8. Welp, the day finally arrived. I finally found a #Blender #Youtuber who's a woman who uses #GenerativeAI.

Lana Easteregg made a video about making a cake decorating game and just admitted in the video to using Claude to #vibecode it. Damn, that's disappointing; I actually liked this creator. And like, the worst part is is that she used it for something so simple. Just to get the camera to orbit around a point. She has a community; she could've just... asked her community for help or looked it up, or hell, pay someone to do it. There was no reason she needed to vibecode it. Her being brain-fried is no excuse to rely on such heinously immoral tech.

Not the first time and probably won't be the last where a Blender creator I liked falls for the slop grift, still sucks, though. She did get some flak in the comments and she left a vague, "Thanks for the feedback," reply to one of them, so I hope this is a one-time instance.

However, she made no note of it in her community tab or has made any statements I've heard of where she says she won't use it again or realized it was wrong, so she's firmly going on the list and not on the no longer uses it category. I hope she realizes how utterly unethical this tech is and denounces it.

Then proceeds to get the AI to write features not think, then describe data structures, interfaces or separation of concerns.

Cheap to use. No maintenance, support, documentation or verification that it works. Law is by definition cautious and regressive. Some law firm will try it, fail and be pushed out of an Industry where reputation to win comes before price.

  24. 20% done with the review of a 2.5 kloc #rstats script for a paper and I have axed about 25% of it. There are 10 kloc in other scripts that are full of bloat but not going to bother with them - it is really bad #rstats architecturally but it works numerically #AIslop #vibecode

  26. @hkrn

    Idiots should not #vibecode

I don't know what guardrails cursor has, as Claude code is my thing.
In my workflow, I have claude.md which contains operational directives including backups and docs.

NO COMMAND GETS EXECUTED WITHOUT MY AUTHORITY.

My vibecoding sessions consist (after issuing the prompt) of 1-40 consent commands for every single command that Ai executes.
    1. Don't do it
    2. Execute blah blah
    3. Stop (where I can amend/seek explanation then proceed)

At every step Claude explains what it is doing, I constructed my .md this way.
Sure it may burn more tokens, but I have an idea of the process.

    The code monkeys got lazy.
    Lesson learned I expect.

  28. @peter

Ust because you have a bot coder

Doesn't free you from being a programmer (or more specifically system analyst/architect).

NB. You can use Ai for that too.
Using AI is a learned skill

    #vibecode

  29. @InfoSecSherpa

I was initially to be super dismissive to the article.

I have seen far too many allegedly "professional" #infosec practitioners being irresponsible towards the new threat vector AND attack surface #Ai offers. But the article is solid IMHO

I will just add, that some top end corpo #vibecode devs use software platform simulacra to test against, including security...presumably

  30. How do you do¹ regression testing and CI/CD on #vibecode prompts? Regenerating your app across all the test systems would cost $BIGNUM, right?

¹ haha jk i know you don’t know what any of those things are.

  32. Kewl app or confusing bag of stuff?

Bluesky announced "Attie" - an AI assistant that enables users to create custom feeds, design custom algorithms, and at some future point vibe-code apps. Currently a private Beta, no indication about monetization yet.

    Attie leverages Anthropic’s Claude under the hood to create an agentic social app built on Bluesky’s underlying AT protocol. “It’s a new product — it’s not a part of the Bluesky app,” techcrunch.com/2026/03/28/blue #BlueSky #Attie #BetaCode #SocialMedia #AI #Claude #Anthropic #ATProtocol #AIAssistant #CustomFeeds #VibeCode

  33. I've been cycling between all agents known to man to vibe code the Email App.

    #Antigravity, #Claude, #OpenCode, #Codex, #Cursor, #Gemini CLI, #DeepAgents, you name them.

$0 spent. Not going to spend a dime on it. If the free tier ends, I switch to another one.

And... progress! There are things left to fix, but may be I can fix them manually.
