Had a great day of hiking in the White Mountains, NH yesterday. Hiked up a trail that had lots of beautiful waterfalls, summited one of the peaks, traversed along a contour, then looped back down a different trail. Perfect weather and great scenery made for a perfect day. More pics to come! #hiking #nature #mountains

Finally got that full rainbow Wednesday evening.
Also a good opportunity to reflect on how much post-processing is often needed for photos to be considered "good" nowadays. Rainbows don't often appear in ideal contrast conditions, bringing them out without screwing up the rest of the landscape can be challenging. Do you have a preference? -

Normally, I pick aisle seats so I can stretch my legs, but this was an hour flight and they wanted an extra $60 for aisle seating. So I picked a window seat and general boarding (no luggage for this trip, just a laptop bag). That means I get to take photos, albeit just with the phone. Like this one of Mount Shasta.

This is the famous Crete Senesi region in Tuscany. The name means "clays of Siena" because the soil here is full of clay. After the summer harvest, the rolling hills turn a warm, golden color. A long, winding gravel road leads to an old farmhouse. Dark green cypress trees stand along the road like tall guards, creating a beautiful contrast against the yellow fields and the soft, grey sky.
