Purple Beard Orchid (Calochilus robertsonii) in Croajingolong NP, East Gippsland, VIC.
Only the one plant out at this location - and only just starting to flower. This widespread beard orchid is fairly common across East Gippsland but I've only ever seen a couple of scattered plants at this spot (growing close to red beard orchids in open heathland).

Tonight we started watching Star Trek TNG season 5 episode 17, “The Outcast”. This is my time seeing it and we’re only about halfway through, but am I interpreting it correctly that it’s essentially a trans storyline, with the ‘outcast’ being a female-identifying person from the androgynous J'naii species where male/female gender is seen as primitive/offensive? Looking it up, I see commentary on how it was a failed “gay episode” but it seems pretty darn hetero to me with Riker as the love interest. Am I missing something?

Uhhh. The broken screen, which was only cosmetically broken before, appears to be more broken.
This does not bode well. Hopefully it’s just a bad seat in the socket or something. Had a couple false starts where it didn’t boot at all, but eventually reseating the top screen’s ribbon cable got a boot.
But no picture on the top screen anymore, and it’s dim.
Anyone ever seen that before? Did I break it more, or is it just not seated? If the latter, I can deal, if the former, I’m concerned I’ll do the same to the new one T_T

Proxmox staff on the forum: the PwnEscape KVM escape fix is in proxmox-kernel-7.0.14-24-pve, and 7.0.14 is the only kernel series getting fixes. EOL releases such as PVE 8 get nothing, and the new kernel needs a reboot. One user reports the NVIDIA 615.78.08 driver won't build against it yet, so check GPU hosts before rebooting.

enshittification creeps by updates. the present version is wonderful, but some Supreme Intelligence decided skip-ahead is a Pro (subscription fee) perk.
My trouble is @CBCNews where the update begins, embarrassingly unlike ANY other national service, with a 30 sec commercial of the sort you might find in hotel Toronto Life mags. Tonight it was to advertise itself for the elections in BC, but the fact it is thought necessary to pump ad copy for news, it embarrasses me as a Canadian.
So I need another way to script those specific news updates: together, they match precisely the length of my meal sittings! 🙂

we're about to see if i can get away with running gcc-6.5.0 with gcc-4.4.7 headers, because the only way i could get gcc-6.5.0 running again was to strip fucking EVERYTHING out, including manually digging through the optimizations still applied at -O0 to figure out why it was hanging on md5.c every time.
