The human brain is so weird.
I've been struggling with a thorny programming implementation issue most of the day and not making much progress.
So I took myself out for a walk, and not 10 minutes into the walk the solution was as clear as day, and ridiculously simple. I coded it up and it looks like it works. Yeesh.

Anybody using 5G for their home internet? My girlfriend has terribly slow and horribly over-priced AT&T but it doesn't look like she has any other wired option...
She can get T-Mobile 5G home internet here (I'd probably do it through my Mint Mobile account, slightly cheaper), and even the minimum advertised download bandwidth would be 10x (yes, 10x) what she currently has, and it would be SO much more inexpensive.
I assume you run into some congestion at times? How does it work, I assume it's like a bunch of 5G cell phones in a box? 😆
I'd prefer something wired but looks like there's just no other option in her apartment complex.

Yes, I'm sure you already know about them and I know they've been there forever and I know they're practically an institution (I think I bought my first futon couch from them in the 80s?)...
but it was just *such* a lovely experience to go in and buy something local and spend the time having a lovely extended conversation with the staff person there (wish I'd gotten his name!)

I'm not feeling the warm fuzzies about trying to do GCP Dataflow (aka Apache Beam) with Typescript. Doesn't feel fully baked.
Also doesn't feel like a lot of doc/examples nor many people using it. I don't think our org should be on the bleeding edge of something like this for a core piece of our infrastructure.
Dunno. Will keep working on it for a bit.

I guess I'm realizing how much of a creature of habit I am and how much change--even if it might in the long run be for the better--just throws me for a loop.
I keep repeating to myself these incredibly helpful wise words from a dear friend:

So there's a LOT of changes going on in my life right now and I'll freely admit when there are times when I'm downright terrified.
I don't really have any reason to be. I'm not going to end up homeless or anything, I have good friends and support network and resources.

Intrigued by the possibility of moving to #roslindale, if I can find something (I have a little time before I need to move).
Drove around it a little today, really liked the vibe (yes I know I should have gotten out and walked, but I didn't have a whole lot of time today. Will get to that.)

Just back from an excellent concert by The Jameson Singers. All double-choir pieces.
Including world premiere of a very good short piece by one of the members of the Singers, J. Andrés Ballesteros.
I really liked the Frank Martin Mass for Double Choir. I'm not familiar with his music, I will have to explore it more.
