Devs, if you're building a web app and want to send out transactions as well as a fortnightly (templated) 'recent updates' newsletter... which email sending service would you recommend?

Back in the day I would have looked at sendgrid (now very bloated) or mailchimp (not so dev friendly) and more recently have used postmark.

Wondering if there's something else out there the cool kids are using these days?

So I’m in some sort of #sendgrid hell spiral. I woke up this morning to dozens of alerts that my API access was excessive and being shut down. Except I don’t use Sendgrid and my account from years ago doesn’t have an active API key (so nothing for me to disable). Also literally everything about the account seems broken? Somehow I have a daily marketing email limit of 9 quadrillion emails on a free account.

Looks like somebody broke into #atari's #Sendgrid account and used it to send a bunch of phishing emails.
No explanation given for how; perhaps @zackwhittaker can wheedle it out of them.
Since it says here that they've "secured" the account, my guess is a bad password (or infostealer) + no #2FA. The most obvious explanation is usually the correct one.
Though I suppose a cracked Lastpass vault is also a possibility.

Update:
Aug 4: I reply to #Sendgrid's support ticket telling them what they did absolutely wasn't what I asked for and they absolutely did not solve my problem.
Aug 17: They spam me again telling me my credit card is expiring.
Aug 17: I reply to the ticket again demanding a reply.
Aug 18: They write back and claim they're going to delete my account.

It gets worse.
I filed a support request with #Sendgrid telling them to stop emailing me about my credit card when my account is supposed to be closed.
They just responded, apologizing that my account had been deactivated and saying they'd reactivated it. NOT WHAT I ASKED THEM TO DO.
Ironically, even though they claim to have reactivated my account, I still get an error when I try to log in saying that my email address isn't recognized, so they haven't actually fixed anything.

I love (narrator: he does not, in fact, love) that #Twilio #SendGrid is sending me emails telling me my credit card on file is about to expire, when I closed my SendGrid account years ago and they obviously should have deleted my credit card from their systems when I closed the account.

No issues w/this where I'm using #Sendgrid… and got all the DNS records setup... even in online tests to check if the domain or emails are flagged those are all coming up clear / passed as well - even though during testing I have seen gmail flagging them. wtf
