I took the bottoms of the stipes of the wine caps I harvested the other day and put them in a bag with soil and sawdust from pellets. You can see the hyphae starting to colonize the bag of substrate.

I also put the open tops which were sporulating in the bag for good measure. I'm hoping to get a nice dense block of mycelium to spread to other areas: pots and in my friend's yard.

(I really should check on the blewits now that I think about it.)

My tomatoes are really late this year but they are gorgeous. I'm growing multiple varieties of antho(cyanin) tomatoes:
Dark Galaxy
Alice's Dream
Indigo Rose
Midnight Snack
Blaue Zimmertomate

The second photo is of: Blaue, Indigo, and Alice (from the left to right). Midnight Snacks have yet to ripen and this year they're a tiny bit smaller even than the Blaues.

But even of the cherry varieties, I have them growing on micro dwarf and indeterminate plants, which is cool (to me). And now the full size tomatoes, I have a black and red, and a black and yellow. I guess technically, the indigo rose are probably cocktail size. I really should remember to look up what the boundaries of sizes are.

The last one is just a bonus picture of an almost perfect specimen of Heartbreaker.

EDIT: I just noticed that it turned "the stipes" into "these types".

... and on the other recently-dead looking tree there was this, which is clearly something different. But I'd need to pull one of my books out to attempt to identify it. Or maybe fungus gnats^Wnerds here can just do that for us ;) [Probably dryad's saddle - seems very likely - thanks @nic]

(Only fair I guess that if I go posting a photo with Kat in it I'd better also post the one she sent of me lying on the ground to photograph fungus like some total weirdo lol.)

As an added bonus there were fungal delights in the churchyard, around two dead trees... the death of one of them probably not being surprising given it was surrounded by a veritable forest of what we believe is probably honey fungus (?).

Mal eine Frage an die #Biologen im #fediverse, speziell an die #Mykologen, sofern hier welche herumlungern😉: Was ist das für ein Tröpfchen-Phänomen auf dem Birkenpilz? Am Fundort gab es mehrere Expl., die bäuchlings gekrümmt waren wie auf dem Foto, teilweise auch mit einem weißen Belag versehen. (Schimmel)Pilzbefall?

A question for the #biologists in the #fediverse, especially for the #mycologists, if there are any hanging around here😉: What is this droplet phenomenon on the birch mushroom? At the site where I found it, there were several expl. that were belly-curved like in the photo, some of which also had a white coating. (Mould) fungal infestation?
