I saw this glorious stump with some nice mushrooms growing out of the side, maybe dryad's saddles? So I climbed on it for a photo and realized there was even more! My first dead man's fungus!

I picked up this twig with a mushroom growing on it today, and some guy coming along the trail said, "That is awesome! Is there a smaller one next to it, too?" I looked closer and saw the smaller one. I hadn't noticed it in my own hand, and this guy had spotted it from 3-4 meters away. He must be a good hiking companion. Second photo for scale with a bit of my finger.

Mountain bike ride on a cool, crisp morning so we started with climby trails to warm up. Roots a little bit greasy from recent rains, but also lots of mushrooms.

Beautiful mushrooms, but these have cropped up in my yard (seemingly originating from my neighbour’s lawn). They appear to be ringless honey mushrooms. How worried should I be for my trees, shrubs, and garden? We’ve been working hard to plant a bunch of native Ontario species to support the insects and birds. #Mushtodon #Mycology #Fungiverse
