  Everyone’s favourite crumble maker has teamed up with (UK) Brighton’s Magic Circle to produce this gorgeous album of addictive synth pop. I once spent an afternoon with Lorraine, we had chips on the beach and trundled around Brighton. She’s everything you might expect and more.
• Gabrielle Lazure – Out of the Blue (1989)
  Gabrielle is an American-Canadian actor who has worked mainly in France. This is the album she recorded for Les Disques Du Crépuscule which includes my favourite of her tracks, This War.
• Led Er Est – Dust On Common (2009)
• Roy Ayers Ubiquity – Red Black & Green (1973)
• Gak Sato – Rephase (2019)
• Peter Peter – Heated Rivalry (2026)
  The soundtrack from the series of the same name. I would not normally be interested in a show about Ice Hockey, but this has quite a lot more to offer. The Peter Peter thing isn’t a typo (apparently his real name is Peter Roy).
• Moon Wiring Club – Cateared Chocolatiers (2017)
• Moon Wiring Club – Psychedelic Spirit Show (2018)
  I’m already up to 2017 in the MWC listen-through. There’s still a lot more to come.
• Grace Jones – Living My Life (1982)
  Unlike every other person in the world I can’t hear this without thinking of the Shepparton Agricultural Show. It was playing as the music for the ferris wheel that year and I guess that association is ingrained in my memory.
• Kuchen Meets Mapstation – Kuchen Meets Mapstation (2003)
• Isolde Lasoen – Oh Dear (2023)
• Isolde Lasoen – Nothing Is Forever (2026)
• Isolde Lasoen – Bed & Breakfast (2022)
• Isolde Et Les Bens & Isolde Lasoen – We Zullen Doorgaan (2021)
  My new favourite artist it seems. She is Belgian and although known as a drummer also plays vibraphone, trumpet, bass synth, percussion and sings. The songs are great. Isolde is incredible. Bandcamp.
• Miles Davis – Blue Moods (1955)
  From Jonny’s Trunk’s recommendations. I still consider myself a jazz dilettante but it’s something I enjoy.
• Frankie Rose – Seventeen Seconds (2017)
  Essentially a musically similar re-recording of the exquisite 1980 album by The Cure. Vocals here provided by New Yorker Frankie Rose (ex of the Vivian Girls). It absolutely works.
• The Gentle People – Simply Faboo (1999)
  Our garage renovations continue on, and we made some big improvements this week with the addition of some metal IKEA shelving that will run the length of the garage. Half of it is up and I spent about 4 hours in there on Monday shelving boxes that have been taking up space on the floor. What does all this have to do with The Gentle People? Well, I needed a soundtrack and their second album somehow felt like just right for this activity.
• Tom Tom Club – Close to the Bone (1983)
  This second album from TTC doesn’t seem to get talked about anywhere near as much as it’s more famous older sister, but it is a good thing, and I feel it sounds even better now than back in 1983.
• Thunderball – Scorpio Rising (2001)
  Unrelated to both James Bond and Kenneth Anger.
• Marie-Amélie Seigner – Dans Un Vertige (2010)
  I loved the early part of this album. It got a bit too chanson for me after that.
• Original Cast – Company (2007 Revival Cast) (2007)
• Original Cast – Company. El Musical (Original Spanish Cast Recording) (2002)
  Two more versions of Sondheim’s Company, I’m on a roll. The Spanish version is my favourite so far.
• Fuzita Blender – A New Compilation (1997)
  This is wild. Japanese mixes and reinventions of tracks by Armand Trovaioli, The Cardigans, Kahimi Karie, Claudine Longet, Astrud Gilberto and the track that introduced me to it “Stereo Balance Test” that mixes Barbarella, Piero Umiliani’s Mah-Na Mah-na and Stereo Balance records.
• Nelson Riddle – Nelson Riddle Plays Gershwin (1959)
• Frank Cordell Orchestra – Sweet and Dry (1960)
• Kate Bush – The Sensual World (1989)
  I was reading about this album in Uncut and thought a reassessment was needed. It’s one of the few KB albums I feel I’ve never fully invested in (this and The Red Shoes).
• Rune Öfwerman Trio – Stöten (1961)
  A 3-track jazzy film soundtrack I often return to.
• Various Artists – Back To Mine: Dave Seaman (1999)
• Various Artists – Back To Mine: Richard X (2004)
