  1. ⁨A well-oiled machine:
I ordered an HDR. Welforces shipped an MDR. Via email I pointed this out and they said they'd send me a return courier bag and when they had the wrong one back they'd send me the right one. I told them this was their mistake and that they'd send the right one right now.
I just got an email with a shipping confirmation saying that they'd shipped THE WRONG ONE today. I called them and they explained they had shipped the correct one this time but because the paperwork that came with the wrong one was for the right one they had to, for stock control purposes account for the wrong one. I thanked them for the explanation but that told them that this is not helpful from a customer perspective. 😡⁩

  4. Loops just shipped a gif keyboard feature!

It's powered by Klipy, and admins need to register and get an API key.

By default, they only allow 100 requests per minute (until you request a production API key), so I added some gorgeous UX to handle those rate limits and keep users happy!

  9. SEO is about more than just ranking; it is about reaching people with respect. At Silphium Design, we released a 2026 guide on creating culturally sensitive web content. Here we look at how inclusive practices improve UX and search visibility. It is time to build a web that feels welcoming to every community. Let us design with empathy.

  10. What if video conference URLs on services running software like #BigBlueButton and #JitsiMeet included a portion that was coded to a time period? So conference organisers could effectively book a block of time in a room. Only invited people with that time-coded link could get in, and random people couldn't stumble into a conference session just by entering the general URL for the room.

  11. @abeorch @gary

Totally. I am myself as technical person stuck in Yunohost because of all kinds of upgrade issues. The "bring together" on a holistic basis is exactly what I do applied research on with Social experience design i.e. #SX.

In the case of #FOSS that means transitioning (or rather evolving) towards #SOSS. And considering the entire #FSDL, which either stands for #FreeSoftware development lifecycle. Or for #Fediverse solution delivery lifecycle.

Under SX software development involves service development, delivery, and exchange. Within commons based ecosystems and across them, to the broader public.

In SOSS + FSDL it is natural that you try to attract a #UX designer if you need one and not just sighed "If only a UX designer became a contributor", which I've often seen people do.

  13. "what if you had an extra mouse button to manipulate windows movement" #ux #uxdesign

    from this video: youtu.be/1fZTOjd_bOQ?si=rlMZAr

well, obviously. That is why, for almost 2 decades now, I always have a mouse with extra buttons and always map the super/win-key to one of the side buttons and always configure my #windowmanager to use the super/win key to manipulate windows.

But I just realized, many won't ever have considered this trick.

  19. @uxMark
That's why we need more men to brave up & counter the misogynists & ableists in their midsts. They always call women who don't tolerate their crap - crazy/hysterical/paranoid/etc. They do not listen to women, especially outspoken ones who don't kneel down to their bullying BS - because they don't see us as equal, they see us as lesser than.
Far too many men do not step up enough. Far too many men are still OK letting more women & more disabled folks, shoulder the brunts for refusing to be silenced by misogynistic ableists.

#AllMen - Stop being so damn silent in public arenas. Do more than just react or conveniently choose to ignore women who are constantly taking hits from shithead men, with huge followings, working in tech or any other environment that is OK with misogynistic ableists.

We need a helluva lot more courageous "Cassandra Men".

  20. There is something hypnotic about how light dances underwater. These caustic effects are more than just eye candy; they are a vital part of biophilic web design. At Silphium Design, we just published a guide on underwater distortion and its impact on UX. My tech and sociology background helped me dive into why these organic patterns resonate so deeply with us. Let's make the web feel more fluid and natural.

  23. We’re not just designing features anymore—we’re deciding what systems are allowed to do. Most teams skip that step. What if the real design problem isn’t automation, but delegation? 24. I have implemented BRK, LIT and POP, as well as step and eval routines for #tny in #ProxOS.

No easy way to initialize data though, see the README.

    git.sr.ht/~ismael-vc/tny-proxO

    Only 37 opcodes left 🚀

Not bad for an instruction set and an environment I just started learning, all that #uxntal assemblying is paying off 🫜

The screen and key input will be tricky I guess, we'll see.

  25. IMHO, when it comes to covering #UX topics, there’s a positive correlation between authors who quote Apple’s 1992 Human Interface Guidelines and authors who share meaningful insights into the craft.

This one, though, is in a class all by itself. And not just because Tonsky references the 1992 HIG quite extensively.

  26. The company's payroll is due today thanks to the bank holiday this week, and that's my responsibility with a professional certification on the line, so I do not have the option to wait for support from IT. Even for incredibly advanced tasks like "turning on my computer".

Fortunately (?) I also have an app for the company's password manager on my phone, and very nearly everything I do is SaaS, so I am now doing the company's payroll on my personal laptop. Which is now accessing every employee's personal information and has none of the security vetted and certified by the company, just whatever free privacy tools I happen to have.

    You know, "security".
