  1. Very happy about this months #PointsOfView in #NatureMethods - The Graphical Abstract. (em on THE hehe).

Co-authored with Simon Dürr, with whom I share a long-time passion for #Icons #BioIcons and #CC0 figures - and fuelled by our joint workshop for the @SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformaticsat [BC]2!

  2. First Apple Glass didn't learn from Windows Vista. Now Apple's Tahoe icons didn't learn from … Apple.

The issue is bigger than a mere disregard for the principles in the 1992 guidelines. It's that training for User Interface designers is nonexistent. As the old guard retires, untrained designers reinvent square wheels.

  3. IMHO, when it comes to covering #UX topics, there’s a positive correlation between authors who quote Apple’s 1992 Human Interface Guidelines and authors who share meaningful insights into the craft.

This one, though, is in a class all by itself. And not just because Tonsky references the 1992 HIG quite extensively.

  4. I've been adding loads of icons to my Pixabay...

All free to use and download. And I believe you can change the colour if you use them in Canva.

  5. Going through my Candybar icon collections brings back Mac-theming memories. Here are a few sets from Jonas Rask: Maji, Pry Black, and Old School TV. #Mac #icons #ui #design #candybar

  6. Making an icon-pack is pretty cool, and making it open-source is even cooler. Like, there are 116 Arcticons contributors in total!

In the past year, I did some tinkering and made a fully FOSS version of Candybar (a dashboard to create icon packs with), compatible with F-Droid.

So if you ever thought about creating an icon-pack, it's super easy now!
