"Upgrade" (2018) was very, very good. Sort of like a feature length Black Mirror episode. Twisty revenge story in the near future, stylishly done.
Heavier on the human aspect, less heavy on the whiz bang, which gave the story a satisfying heft.

Wow. This is especially interesting in the context of the World War II bombing raids over Japan, where they couldn't figure out why their extremely intricate Norden analog bombsight was off. They were not taking the jetstream into account.
Referencing "The Bomber Mafia" here, which is utterly fascinating, and might be available as an audiobook from your library, which is how I consumed it.

Can confirm: "His & Hers" on Netflix is a super solid murder mystery that goes hard until the *very* end.

Anyone looking for something to watch tonight, "Man On Fire" (series) on #Netflix is epic spy shit. Wife & I killed all 7 eps in two evenings, staying up way late to finish it, which is VERY rare.
Incredibly, it's filmed on location in Rio, in the parts tourists don't go to, and uses some local talent. Deeply drawn characters, tightly written, with an extremely sympathetic yet badass main character.
One of the best things I've seen this year.

If you haven't checked out Secret Level (Prime), you really should. Short animated films based on games. By the team behind Love, Death & Robots.
The first episode is based on D&D and I would watch the shit out of a feature-length film like that.

Killer history of #Blackmagic here by @latenite . Very, very informative; changes the way I see the company and its mission.

TLDR: you have to flip a switch in the options of the AirDrop menu, and then the video comes over in a folder, and the version of the file name with the E before the number has your cinematic moves baked in, whereas the other one is editable on import. Alternatively, you import directly from the Photos app, or by navigating to the photos in the import menu in FCP.

Hey #GearSquad you have *got* to check this out

This is it! 2026 board. Don't see myself swapping anything out. Analog signal never gets converted again post-wireless. Can be played ad-hoc, or with extremely specific programming. Don't know of any pedals that have the same combo of attributes—inspiring sounds, ease of use, audio fidelity, midi flexibility, genre flexibility.

Just unreal how hard Topaz AI upscaling is taxing my M4 Pro 16" MBP.
It's plugged into the mains adapter, and after three hours of non-stop rendering, the battery is down to 25%.
There's literally no way you could leave this unsupervised for more than a few hours, before you'd have an uncontrolled shutdown.

Shot I took in 2018 backstage (before playing with them) of Art Alexakis (Everclear) and Anton Cosmo (formerly of Boston).

The coolest thing I've seen in a while was this original stage closet door, that was preserved with a sheet of clear plexiglass. Check out the plaque, and you'll see what I mean 👀

Aw man. I mean, loads of pros use it, so it's probably fine but that's a $1500 gamble.

And trying to incorporate a slew of analog pedals takes you into the world of midi loop switchers, and then the pedal board gets too big to really do fly dates.
If getting together the required palette requires some kind of compromises with digital, then it's increasingly seeming like some sort of modeller might be worth looking at. So I reached out to Neural DSP...
... and guess what (2/2)

You gotta have a lot of balls to enjoy Christmas.
Hope everyone had/is having a wonderful break out there!

Hey #GearSquad, anyone know of a device/box for the pedalboard that will listen to ambient stage noise and convert it to tap tempo output? Free The Tone's Flight Time delay could do this...
