  1. @samvarma @billyjoebowers the complete gutting of the camera was my weeping point…. #AppleUpdate #Enshittification. As my 80+ year old dad said, wow, it’s taking us back to 2000 technologies! Nostalgia tech!

  2. @samvarma A great friend built that from new parts + gold hardware with those pickups, and just shipped it to me out of the blue. 🙂

  3. @LukefromDC @samvarma

    #bluesky feels very #cryptocurrency

which makes sense since it's run by #crypto bros and funded by #cryptobros

the way they work is they make exciting starry eyed promises

    people buy into the promises

    and forget the reality

    this is by design:

a true believer is immune to reality

the reality is, it's #centralized shit endlessly promising what #mastodon already offers

#decentralization is always just around the corner, just you wait!

and wait, and wait, and wait...

  4. Wow. This is especially interesting in the context of the World War II bombing raids over Japan, where they couldn't figure out why their extremely intricate Norden analog bombsight was off. They were not taking the jetstream into account.

Referencing "The Bomber Mafia" here, which is utterly fascinating, and might be available as an audiobook from your library, which is how I consumed it.

  5. Can confirm: "His & Hers" on Netflix is a super solid murder mystery that goes hard until the *very* end.

  6. Anyone looking for something to watch tonight, "Man On Fire" (series) on is epic spy shit. Wife & I killed all 7 eps in two evenings, staying up way late to finish it, which is VERY rare.

Incredibly, it's filmed on location in Rio, in the parts tourists don't go to, and uses some local talent. Deeply drawn characters, tightly written, with an extremely sympathetic yet badass main character.

One of the best things I've seen this year.

  7. The office tonight. Grand Ballroom at the Hilton on Michigan Ave.

  8. TLDR: you have to flip a switch in the options of the AirDrop menu, and then the video comes over in a folder, and the version of the file name with the E before the number has your cinematic moves baked in, whereas the other one is editable on import. Alternatively, you import directly from the Photos app, or by navigating to the photos in the import menu in FCP.
