    Camouflage vs mimicry vs masquerade

Camouflage (Crypsis): This is the art of blending into the background so you become invisible. A green grasshopper hiding in green grass is camouflage.

Mimicry: This is when an animal evolves to look like a different living organism, usually to trick a predator into thinking it's dangerous or unpalatable. For example, a harmless moth evolving to look and buzz exactly like a stinging wasp.

  10. "“It’s gross at one level, but it’s also kind of adorable. They’re cruising around like, ‘Oh, this looks delicious. I’ll eat some of this and then put the rest on my back.’”

In 2024 a new species of caterpillars got discovered on Hawaii that not only use other insects' body parts to hide under but also occasionally are cannibalists! I just love everything about this.

  12. Animal coloration (Zoology 🦥)

Animal coloration is the general appearance of an animal resulting from the reflection or emission of light from its surfaces. Some animals are brightly coloured, while others are hard to see. 13. Tools, Trades, and a Cold Beer in Athens

While wandering around a market in Athens, I saw this man sitting on the ground outside his tool-filled shop. He seemed very relaxed and was chatting to a nearby man. I hope that beer was nice and cold as it was quite a warm day!

The Areti beer seen in the photo is a Greek pale lager produced by Zotos Ltd., known for its light body and low alcohol content (3.5% ABV), making it a popular choice for casual daytime drinking in Greece
