I just got my old Wegner Super Tinker knife back from #Victorinox. For $5, they did a great job getting back to almost new condition.

I made a pouch for my #Victorinox Multitool. It is made from a #repurposed #Fri3dCamp banner. The original pouch was torn by the chain on my knife & the knife kept failing out of the pouch. So I needed a new one. Thus I made one @fri3d

The knife fits snugly & the pouch is closed by folding it inside.

I kind of like the rough #DIY look of it. I tried to add a button but failed so I just fold the flap inside for now. I might end up adding a button in the future. Quite happy with the result.

Hurrah for #Victorinox! Almost 30 years ago I got - as a gift - one of their knives, a gentleman's multi-tool. It had all the tools a gentleman needs: a cigar cutter, a bottle opener, a cork screw, and a knife. Plus some others. But after all that time it was getting a bit poorly. Everything was blunt, the joints were stiff and out of alignment. So I posted it to them, and a month later it came back as good as new.

For the Fish River Canyon and Drakensberg trip I have my cooking setup settled and there are some luxury items.

- I am taking a Fozzils Snapbowl for when I need a bowl. Doubles as a cutting board. (https://www.fozzils.com/product-page/snapfold-bowlz). It fits nicely into the back stretch pocket of the backpack.

- A long handle spork.

Wenn ich eine Firma nennen sollte, bei der der Service wirklich unglaublich gut ist, dann ist es Victorinox.

Bei meinem bald 35 Jahre alten Taschenmesser zerbröselte eine der Griffschalen.

Ich habe es zum Service eingeschickt. Dabei wurde nicht nur die Griffschale erneuert, sondern auch alles gereinigt, geschliffen, sowie Zahnstocher und Pinzette ausgetauscht.

Ich war heute an einem anderem Standort . Da war ich auch bei einem Kollegen. Er ist in dieses Büro vor kurzem Umgezogen und friert seit dem weil die Heizung nicht richtig geht.
Der Typ Heizkörper in seinem läßt sich mit einem Schraubenzieher entlüften. Also ziehe ich mein #victorinox #swisschamp und entlüfte die Heizung. Es war sehr viel Luft,

W kuchni, w której pracuję od kilku miesięcy, używane są noże Fiskars z serii Functional Form. Niby są spoko, ale zupełnie nie leżą mi w ręce.

Nie chciałem chodzić do pracy z domowym Victorinoksem, więc kupiłem sobie najprostszy, dwudziestocentymetrowy nóż szefa z Gerlacha i muszę powiedzieć, że okazał się zaskakująco wygodny. Dobrze układa się w dłoni i jest całkiem przyjemnie wyważony.

Co prawda ostrze jest trochę cieńsze od mojego Vicka i łatwiej się rysuje (po 2 tygodniach ma więcej rysek niż tamten po kilku latach używania), a drewno (podobno dąb) przy łączeniu z metalem już nieco poczerniało (mimo tego, że myję ręcznie i od razu suszę cały nóż), ale nadal wydaje się być całkiem dobrym zakupem, zwłaszcza za 75 złotych.

Jak na razie nieźle trzyma ostrość, do tej pory jedynie honowałem go na stalce i ciągle tnie warzywa bardzo przyzwoicie. W przyszłym tygodniu będzie pora na pierwsze ostrzenie i nawet zastanawiam się, czy przepuścić go razem z resztą firmowych noży przez elektryczną maszynkę, czy może jednak naostrzyć go ręcznie na kamieniu, tak jak mój domowy nóż.

It could be because that on the café’s opening, the knives they gave us were really very blunt butter knives that couldn’t even cut through the crust on their toast.

I kept having to pull out my large-ish folding #Victorinox #knife so my better half could cut sausages, toast etc in her meal.

That may have caught their eye.

My better half isn’t feeling any better today.

Last night she was & was talking of a drive to #Sunbury for #lunch, but as the morning has gone along, she’s declined. Her appetite returned yesterday.

I have whipped out one of my #Victorinox #arthritis #peelers & have been slicing spuds & onions, cutting up tomatoes, splashing #WorcestershireSauce etc. & have just put a batch of #devilled #sausages into the oven.

Lunch will be a little late, but I think it’ll hit the spot.

Ja hab eins in einer alten usbA Version von #Victorinox am Schlüsselbund. Mit USB-Stick, Messer, Schere, Kugelschreiber. Brauche die Werkzeuge sehr häufig. Leider gibts keinen #nitrokey oder #Yubikey dafür.

I really appreciate that chime which is infuriatingly not available on Wear OS Android watches.

Also the buttons are very responsive and easy to activate. This plus-size update on the classic Casio F-91W gets everything right: all the simplicity and elegance but much easier for my Gen X eyes to read. Bonus: the back light is MUCH brighter too. 💡

Und ich hab' mich erst gefragt, warum mein #Thinkpad X250 nicht mehr lädt und dann, warum der Stecker auf einer Seite nicht mehr richtig reingeht und schräg drinsteckt. Keine Ahnung, wie das recht harte Kügelchen da rein kam, aber es muss wohl in meiner Laptop- oder Fahrradtasche gewesen sein. Rausbekommen habe ich's übrigens mit der kleinen Pinzette, die in fast jedem #Victorinox Taschenmesser dabei ist. Schwerkraft alleine half nicht.

Post von #Victorinox. Ich hab mein Taschenmesser zur Reparatur geschickt weil die Schale gebrochen war. Die haben nicht nur die Schale gemacht sondern auch noch die schartige Ahle ausgetauscht. Dazu wurde es gereinigt, geölt und fehlende Teile wie die Pinzette, Schraubendreher und Zahnstocher ersetzt. Ich hab quasi ein fabrikneues Taschenmesser für 10 Euro wiederbekommen, hat aber 2 Wochen gedauert
