  1. In use, right now. Yes, I mostly use it to digitise old cassette tapes, but it does have batteries and a headphone socket, and I used it this very morning to listen to a demo tape from the early 90s while making my tea.

  2. Outgoing as an unofficlal swap with a @postcrossing chum today. had "mad skills yo", and took an absolutely ridiculous 96 5-fers in 485 first class matches.

  3. I'm so glad that so thoughtfully did a careful safety inspection on this that I got from a random stranger via @postcrossing. I can now rest assured that I won't get a paper cut from it, or have the purity of my corrupted.

  4. I got a type 6 a few days ago. When it arrived it was in good shape but somehow while sitting in my pile of keyboards one of the hinged feet has just disappeared and I can't find it. Alas! Alack! Woe is me!

Don't suppose anyone has one that they can spare from a broken device do they? Or know where I can buy a replacement?

  5. Today in Dave Gets Things From Unusual Places ... Tamil Pulp Fiction, from @blaft. I look forward to reading it!

  6. Received today on a from via @postcrossing. The "stamp" is just a slip of paper with the value written on it by hand, which is then stapled to the card. Does anyone know what the language is on the bottom line? ?

  7. From the Architects' Journal. If that's one of those buildings that are "so hard to reuse" then I'll posit that it's because they're fucking hideous and no-one wants to reuse them.

OK OK, I know what the real reason is - it's because the buildings aren't very good and need lots of work to make them fit for modern purpose. And renovations attract 20% , unlike new builds.
