CW: Links between conditions: LC, ME/CFS, PTSD, RA, MS
"The findings suggest that chronic fatigue syndrome (also known as ME), long Covid, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis (MS) may be driven by common underlying mechanisms. ...
"The study found that genes linked to each illness were feeding into the same major biological systems - including immune and inflammatory signalling, mitochondrial energy production, metabolic regulation, stress-response mechanisms and neuroendocrine signalling."
Interesting!
And also a bit comical to suggest that ME/CFS and Long Covid have "largely been viewed as separate disorders", when people with ME/CFS had been saying "hey watch out, this seems similar" since practically the minute LC was identified, or even before!
True about the other three conditions, though. I don't think I've seen _those_ linked (to each other or to the first two), or not commonly at any rate.
Thanks to @trendless for the link.

"The California Highway Patrol (CHP) will be present to ensure safety for cyclists,
motorists, and support crews. Cyclists will ride single-file and follow the flow of traffic.
Motorists are urged to stay alert and share the road. Caltrans reminds motorists to slow
down and move over when driving through highway construction zones."Ebike FAQs: https://events.arthritis.org/pages/9392?eventID=1740

Solid morning #wrenching, little impromptu brake workshop in the driveway with a pair of matching Hyundai's.
Later the week, have another brake job to do on the in-law's car, so will be at it again soon.
Actually, I did very little aside provide some tools and consumables and a little bit of advice which is really great. Partially as it is a great skill set to share in Nfld, but also as it does a number on my #arthritis to be at it :)

The work on the DC - quite descriptive - is published. Find it here: https://mastodon.social/@tinyspheresof/109681388538649498
The T cell work has not been published. I think I have a mostly complete manuscript that I could put on bioRXv. I'll discuss it with my former PI.
The short version: #IL6 and #TNF were very abundant, and were in the way of Treg-Teff interaction, #Teff not reacting to #Treg suppression anymore. Possibly partly explaining why drugs against these work in #arthritis. -
The link btw obesity and arthritis: ~25% of arthritis cases would have been averted by maintaining normal weight from young adulthood to midlife, sparing 2.7 million people.
