I have current research in #CochlearImplant, #TBI, #NoiseInduced #HearingLoss in an #ovine model, #Encephalocele repair, and otic organoids, and I have recent publications in #Stapedectomy/ #Stapedotomy, #VestibularSchwannoma/ #AcousticNeuroma, #LabyrinthitisOssifcans, #Tympanoplasty, #COVID, and #ResidentEducation. I’ve been known to do my own #MedicalIllustration and stats for publications, too. 2/3

I have a cochlear implant and without it, things are completely silent. Mentally though, my brain sometimes scrambles to fill in the gaps and imagine sounds that aren’t real and this often takes the form of a droning noise that gets louder the more I notice it, like an auditory pink elephant. There’s also the occasional faint illegible voice to spice things up - I swear I’m not going mad.
