  1. Hereโ€™s something fun for you #medievalists and those into #typologies - this leather scrap from medievai #Greenland is covered with incised crosses. Probably itโ€™s a #devotional counter of some kind, and those three-toed/triangular crosses are distinctively Greenland. Do they pop up elsewhere? #histodons

  6. Not few archaeologists have a (not so secret) love-hate relationship with #typologies - they sometimes can be a bit of a burden, but these neat lines of development help us recognizing, understanding, and dating change in and progress of #MaterialCulture.

  11. People love being typologised. Iโ€™m no different, although my result as an โ€˜Abstract Explorerโ€™ in IBMโ€™s Tech Type quiz wasnโ€™t exactly a surprise.

  12. probably in the past I was interested in people (and what they wrote or spoke about the topics listed below) who wrote or spoke about #mythology, #typologies, #philosophy, #science, #history, maybe even #culture. I read what they wrote, but we didn't communicate. I'm just reporting it, I don't mind talking here in mastodon.

  19. This is a really good read, IMHO, on policy approaches to adapting for #ClimateChange:

    behavioralscientist.org/polici

The piece that really resonated with me was the initial assertion on Western values of #MarketCapitalism & #TechnoOptimism.
And I really liked the clarity of the five policy #typologies - feels like an invitation for the orgs of now/the future to decide where they fit and really carve their space out.

  21. First, archaeological #dating compares #MaterialCulture. Are similar finds known from other sites in the region?

Over decades of research, archaeologists developed complex #typologies e.g. of Neolithic stone tools (like the ones found at #GobekliTepe):
