I’m home after a lovely walk around the river, just 5km but that’s enough for now. Very cold out as it was still only 7c when I left, I ended up nice & warm by the end though.
Stopped off in town on my way home to get some cash from the hole in the wall & saw a couple of Rosellas that seem to be making use of another hole in a wall - maybe a nest or just checking it out. Home now & enjoying a hot lemongrass & ginger tea. #RiverWalk #MightyMurray #Wattle #Birds

Good morning tooters. Quite a pleasant 5c morning but there is some rain forecast for later today but it’s only getting up to cool 12c today. Had another lovely restful sleep last night, not quite as long as the previous night but 7.45 hrs is pretty credible. I must be really needing it as I was very tired & could barely keep my eyes open when I went to bed.
I’ve started replacing my freezer meals & stocks but nothing is finished & ready to go in there. I cooked a chook up yesterday afternoon & will remove the meat off the bone & use the bones with veg for my stock today. I also cooked a marinated strip loin, cut into 3 pieces with veg & will freeze the excess to give two meals to me. The chicken will also give me 2 or 3 freezer meals & I have mince to make spag bol & chilli con carne over the next few days. Build it all up again for use when I house sit.
I’ve decided I want to go for a walk around the river today, my happy place. I’ll start my more formal at home exercise classes tomorrow. I feel like things are getting back to normal or as near as damnit.

Such a lovely morning & early afternoon. My friend & I ended up taking the longest walk of almost 9km today, wandering around first Wodonga Creek & then the Murray River. Took us about 2hrs all up & even though we carried our umbrellas with us, the rain stayed away. Our feet got pretty wet though, but that’s no big deal. I was feeling it behind the knees by the end, but I’ve pulled up ok since.
Then I took a side trip on the way home to my sisters to say goodbye to my niece & her husband until next time. They’d like me to go to Perth to visit them, but it’s an expensive trip. One day maybe.

It was pretty cold walking around the river today but I did enjoy it & was able to go a little bit off track into other areas & explore. The old Roo 🦘 in the picture is one I’ve seen a couple of times, never with his mob. I think he’s been supplanted by a younger buck. There is something wrong with him & by the odd way he turns his head I think it’s his eyesight although his hearing seems fine. He is certainly a big old fella & should be ok in the paddock, lots of good grasses for him to eat.

Fabulous 5+km walk around the river this morning. Usually I tie my jacket around my waist during my walks, but the wind had a definite *there’s snow up high* feel to it so I kept it on. Today was supposed to a be a bigger 9km walk in an area not used too often but as my friend couldn’t come & I was walking alone I thought it more prudent to walk somewhere where there was likely other walkers. Still I did enjoy being out there & I do tend to notice a lot more when I’m by myself. #RiverWalk #ThickTrunkThursday #Kangaroos

It’s been a pretty good day today, fairly quiet. Even my walk around the river this morning was quiet, very few people out walking which suited me fine. The river is surprisingly low in some areas which surprised me, no Roos, but plenty of birds & it definitely made me feel a lot better, my eyes are still quite sore though & when I bought Claratyne on the way home I also got some more eyedrops.
The whole day has been relatively quiet which I’ve enjoyed. Watched some tv, sat outside to read in the sunshine. I should sleep pretty well tonight. #Exercise #RiverWalk #HayFever.

Well that was a morning & a half. First up when I went to leave to meet my friend for our walk, the car wouldn’t start & the Qashqai is nothing like my old very basic simple non computerised car & I don’t know what’s happening. I rang my friend to tell her I can’t meet her & why & then ring the RACV. They will be 15mins, which they were. A very nice man checks it out & tells me it’s just the battery & he will replace it for me which he then did. Then my friend rings to see how I’m getting on & I tell her that the car is now going & she asks if I still want a walk. Which I do - absolutely I do! So we finally get our walk around 11am & I arrive home in time for a late lunch. It was a lovely walk as well & saw this furry 👇🏼old fella totally unbothered by us walking past him🦘. Life doesn’t always go to plan, but it all worked out in the end. #Kangaroo #RiverWalk #Exercise

After checking the balloons out I head to my old haunt walking around the Murray River & I haven’t walked for over a month, so thoroughly enjoyed this. No other walkers around until I was nearly finished but lots of bike riders including a number obviously riding to work. Nearly 6km done, so not bad. I thought I might struggle a bit but all the swimming I’ve done has obviously served me well.
I have no at home jobs that need doing so the rest of my day will be quiet.
