  1. World’s First Shrine for Stuffed Animals Opens in Kyoto

A shrine believed to be the world’s first dedicated to stuffed animals was established on June 20 in Nantan, Kyoto Prefecture, giving owners a place to express gratitude for beloved plush toys and hold memorial rites for those that have finished their role.

  2. Ah, yes, the perfect test of humanity: mastering the fine art of the claw machine 🤖🎮, now combined with #React #elements that are as predictable as your WiFi during a storm. Because who needs Turing tests when you can just flail at virtual stuffed animals? 🐻💻

  4. Ursine love, part 2. I was in a melancholy mood when I saw these guys in their toy bin, and I thought of how pandas and polar bears are both threatened by climate change. So I took their photo and situated them in a Mordor-like hellscape where they could console and comfort each other, like Sam and Frodo at the end of all things.

Not my best work but I’m fond of it.😅

    “Stofftier” / Stuffed animal

    Ursine love.💕

These guys were at the top of a bin of stuffed toys in an IKEA store. I was surprised to feel quite moved by the way they seemed to be comforting each other. I liked this scene so much that I created some (bad) photo art around it, which I’ll post in the comments.

  8. My best friend commissioned a portrait of her two boys' favorite stuffed animals, Mumu Bear and Pinguini. They're basically family members! Super fun project!

How to Wash #StuffedAnimals the Right Way

Keep your child's favorite #toys looking brand new.

"From their favorite bunny rabbit to the plush teddy bear they play with once a year, many children have a collection of stuffed animals they display with pride. But these beloved toys—even ones that sit on the shelf waiting to be played with—can quickly build up with dust, dirt, germs, and dander. Not only can allergens and germs be potentially harmful to your child, but dirtiness can also degrade the overall longevity of their treasured keepsakes. Keep their stuffed animals looking as beautiful as the day you got them with these cleaning tips for washing in the machine or by hand. "

  12. Where to Donate #StuffedAnimals, #ActionFigures, and Other #Toys

Instead of tossing your kids' old playthings, donate gently used items to one of these organizations.

"If you find yourself overrun by stuffed animals, outgrown toys, never-opened games, and like-new books, it's time to donate items to a charity. And in most cases, it's easy to find a great home for your gently used items.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Can I donate items that need repair?

Some organizations can take goods in any condition and repair or clean as needed; others require only items in like-new condition. Repair stuffed animals before donating them, make sure toys and puzzles have all their pieces, and clean plastic toys when possible.

How do I wash stuffed animals before donating them?

Most stuffed animals can be washed in the washing machine; put them in a pillowcase or delicates bag for extra protection. If the label dictates hand washing, remove the stuffing before washing the outside of the stuffed animal.

How do I wash plastic toys?

Most small plastic toys (including loose Legos) can be washed in the washing machine or dishwasher; larger items can be wiped with disinfecting wipes or washed with warm water and a gentle soap.

What’s the best way to donate stuffed animals if I don’t have a local drop-off spot?

If you haven't had any luck contacting local organizations about donations, consider calling 211, a national number dedicated to essential community services. They can connect you with social service organizations to ask about specific donations. This service is run by United Way in most regions, in collaboration with local nonprofits and other public agencies."

  16. The kidlet's ESSA (Emotional Support Stuffed Animal) and their portrait of it. Proud of how good their drawing is starting to get. Have to say "River" is better trained and can do way more tricks than our real dog too ;)

  18. Just look at this mess.

She is guarding her "stuff" and worries that I may get rid of them.

She found one of he old ripped toys and "saved it"

  19. I put the stuffings back into the stuffed animal Mellie was playing with and put it away for people to visit our apartment, and she found it.

Pulled it out of the closet, came to me with a "smile" showing off her humping/ripping toy.

Never seen a female dog hump like she does and of course the apartment will be a mess again with all the stuff floating around.

PS she only rips apart her toys nothing else ever.
