  1. Hey fellow #photographers I have a quick request.

#ThinkTankPhoto is a popular online store for #camera gear. I have several of their bags in my kit, and they've always been high quality and well designed.

Unfortunately they've decided to start a #substack and I'm guessing they have no idea why that's a bad idea. I sent them an email asking them nicely to reconsider that platform, pointed at my ordeer history and linked articles on their #nazi connections.

Please take a moment to do the same.

  2. Weird ask.

The musicians on fedi have a sort of backstage where we talk sometimes. Not everyone, of course, but many. It is a Discourse server called The Social Music Network, focused on helping promotion of indie music and artists. Many great things have been built out of that space.

The ask: Is there a similar hangout for indie #visualArtists of the fedi? #Painters, #photographers, #digitalArtists, #illustrators?

I have an idea I'd really like to vett among those people.

  7. Dear #photographers have you seen the new #UK pamphlet telling people not to take public photos? It strangely then seemingly links *all* public photography with sexualized photography and then tells you to report any photo taken of you in public to the police (because they're not busy enough?)

Note: if you're in the UK, consider writing to someone in your area about this messaging.

  18. 🇮🇸 🌊 Reynisfjara Beach

In Reynisfjörður, landslides occurred in which a large section of the shore slid down to the warning signs on the beach. According to a coastal engineer, an east wind was the cause. He explains where the unusual east wind came from.

Whether the appearance of the beach will continue to change is currently difficult to predict.

The rise in sea levels plays no role in this.

  19. Reynisfjara Beach 🇮🇸 has often been featured in the media because of its beauty and danger – unfortunately, the sea claims victims there due to its unpredictability.

Now strong east winds have washed away a large section of the shore from the slopes of Reynisfjörður up to the warning signs.

Your photos could become historically significant – especially those taken in the coming months

  24. So what does the #FujiFilm #photographers on Fediverse have to say about XF16-80/4 vs XF16-55/2.8 mark I?

I thought I had made a decision to get the 16-80, but with falling prices for 16-55 after the launch of mark II I tried it in my local shop yesterday. And it felt really well balanced on my X-H1.
