  1. It seems the weird POSSE mechanism on my website now works for the three content types: articles, photos and book reviews. All will be posted as normal content to this account, and a cronjob periodically checks for interactions, and adds them to the content on my website. Had to rewrite a significant portion because of some edge cases.

  2. I wrote a little something on changelogs and release notes because I feel like they’re slowly but surely becoming a lost art.

  3. My migration from gitlab to codeberg is almost complete. If only the Forgejo Actions weren't down, I'd be able to test my release pipeline.

The earlier problem that my repo was way too large for codeberg was easily mitigated by just removing the entire history. 300 megabytes i really didn't need.

  4. I'm so excited to be restarting website features for 2026! This year I will be showcasing the amazing members in the & .

Kicking off member features is Elswhere! She has such a creative space. I adore her early 2000s web nostalgia vibes. She has a lot of great tips to share on personal website building. Check it out! 👇

  5. Another personal website to follow.
Liking the layout/simple organization of the website. And the paints (i like comics). And the links for tools. And... just give a look.

  10. FOSS, single-file, vanilla, save with CTRL + S. This is designed to make single file webpages/programs in absolute position or VW. 12. Interesting to see that my gitlab pipeline to deploy changes to my website has come down from 1:33 minutes on TransIP to 0:40 on Hetzner.

  13. 📝 New Hosting Provider

    Posted on April 27th 2026

Over the decades, I've been a fairly loyal customer of my hosting providers. But sometimes something happens that requires me to move.

My first real hosting provider for this website was MediaDesign. A small company from Leiden, owned by friends. At some point, they decided to sell the business. Immediately the quality of service went downhill, and I went on the lookout for a new host.

The new host was Antagonist. They offered better service and technical specs, for the same amount of money. Sadly, after some years, the rot started. Specs were adjusted to be less permissive, amounts got smaller, and prices went up. Also there was absolutely no innovation happening. After another price hike, it was time to move.

Number three was TransIP. They were one of the best providers out there, providing new and improved security and other things. Almost immediately prices went up, and since moving my site, there were no attempts to facilitate things like HTTP3. And then they raised prices again.

This was the point where I had to face the music: the ductch private hosting sector is dead. Noone innovates, all the small companies have been bought up. Now it's purely profitmaxxing. So I took my website over the border. The current hosting provider is Hetzer. They give me so much more in functionality, and cost a third of what I paid in the Netherlands.

Let's see how long that lasts.

  14. Sadly, the time has come to retire the security.txt from my website. It is only used by l33t haxxors who think they can use ai tools to find amazing bugs in my site, but only if i have a bug bounty program. Yet another net positive is turned into a net negative thanks to LLM's.

  19. I see a pattern.

    1. I want to post a picture on my website!
    2. Oh the mechanism is broken/needs an update. lets do that first.
    3. Two weeks later, i've forgotten what I wanted to post.
    4. GOTO 1

  20. I have updated the background pattern of my with more icons reflecting hobbies, videogames and more stuff I'm into!

Decided to make a bit of a grid this time, I think the pattern looks great at about this size heh, although if you zoom out it gets very noticeable :P

  21. Bon beh jsuis content, la nouvelle version de mon site avance un peu :)

  22. I accidentally installed a (likely) vibe-coded Obsidian plugin and found myself enjoying it. This caused yet another mini-identity crisis which I needed to get out of my head.

    amxmln.com/blog/2026/using-slo

I guess whether it’s right or wrong to use slopware is something everyone has to decide for themselves. I’m certainly not happy about it, but I don’t know where to draw the line anymore as increasingly everything seems to be infected by the slop.

  23. New on the blog: The one where I share family traditions about boiled eggs.

Heads up: I am talking about eating eggs.
I am also talking about family traditions. So if you would rather not read the post, which is absolutely fine of course, I would like to ask here as well: What kind of unique family traditions (of any kind) do you have?

  24. Started a small new project: My personal website already has a book review section. Now I'm trying to implement a full taxonomy management module instead of the basic keyword sorting it has now. A little complex, but very interesting.

I just finished writing my post for Hyde's Over/Under series that will be published on his blog next Monday, April 6!

A bit nervous but also excited.

Definitely check out his interviews with other bloggers because it's very interesting and inspiring! I really hope mine is good enough…

  26. This year, I (finally) redesigned my #PersonalWebsite:
    sidney.me 🎉

It’s based on postcards: a design constraint that helped me make more thoughtful decisions about what I want to say, how to stay succinct, and how to do it graphically. They also focus attention and scale well to mobile

After another lovely meeting, I got inspired to add a little feature that was on my to-do list: a permalink section.

I learnt that you can add a rule to make the text selection default to all with: `user-select: all`

If you have a or interested in the , join the next HWC!
