Is it just me, or are most of the #indieweb standards unbelievably convoluted? It seems you want simple ways to connect websites. This is so overcomplicated, and unbecoming of personal websites.

Github actions have been down all day and that's the primary mechanism I use to push to my web host. I could package my website locally and upload manually but I'm a bit afraid of breaking things...

Kinda sad that my attempts at personal independence from big tech still have so many hooks into their infrastructure :/

A lot of folks make these great weekly lists of enjoyable things they've read or watched. I decided to make a whole page that I will (hopefully) get into the habit of updating regularly! Books, videos, articles, etc.

This is part of having a #PersonalWebsite that I actually like to read and use myself - making pages that are built more for my own eyes and ease of use. I'm much more likely to update a static thing than to remember to make a new post every week. With Satellite I feel like I'm really oriented toward prioritizing what I will enjoy looking at and writing in, and that's made such a difference.

I love how 95% of personal websites can still serve URLs first seen 30 years ago, but anything owned by a company bigger than "some guy in his basement" treats any URL older than 12 months as an unreadable runestone inscription, throws its hands in the air, and intones "404".

It looks like whoever is behind this has finally come for one of my sites. Manually blocking datacenter IPs has worked for a while, but it seems like the traffic is now coming either from residential IPs, or the IPs are just getting spoofed.

Real conundrum. I didn't want to have to set up Cloudflare for the site, and I have to wonder how good they are at catching this anyway, but it might just come to that.

Anyone else has been dealing with this?
