  1. I got back from my outing to the Dungeon Meshi Art Exhibit, and it was great! They had a  merch shop so I bought some cool stuff 😎

  2. 📚You can tell a lot about a person by the books on their bookshelf. Abandoned places, especially houses, are often filled with forgotten books left behind. Each scuffed cover and dog-eared page tell a story, beyond the stories contained within.

On my shelf is an eclectic mix of geology, sci-fi, horror and photography books. What is your favourite book, and how many times have you read it?

  4. Hei again!

Reposting my second blog post in the series about the History of the Norwegian Exlibris: annikarockenberger.com/2025-11

I have fixed the typos and changed the intro a bit and put a featured image, because the internet tells me, pictures attract readers!

Anyhow, come by and read part 2!

  6. It’s Weekend, Let’s read: Anne of Green Gables by L. M. Montgomery

““Oh, Marilla,” she exclaimed one Saturday morning, coming dancing in with her arms full of gorgeous boughs, “I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers. It would be terrible if we just skipped from September to November, wouldn’t it? Look at these maple branches. Don’t they give you a thrill—several thrills? I’m going to decorate my room with them.””

A favorite season asks for a favorite reading. The ‘ber months are indeed my favorites and I wouldn’t want to skip any of them.

You can read Anne of Green Gables by L. M. Montgomery right here, right now from Project Gutenberg.

Have a wonderful and nature colorful weekend!

  9. This dilemma applies to renewable energy, too: the current trajectory points toward deserts chock full of privatized or semi-privatized (authoritarian-owned) solar panels that need to be replaced all the time. Little or no thought is ever given to, like, winding down the advertising or consulting industries so we don’t need as much power in the first place. #book #books #bookstoread #BookCommunity #bookCollection #bookstodan #bookstodon

  11. Whenever someone says something like “we just need to build MORE STUFF, we need ABUNDANCE, and that would solve everything,” they often just mean tweaking the current setup, e.g. by swapping out fossil fuels for solar and wind. This won’t work because it relies on having to constantly increase scarcity and deplete public wealth, while destroying the environment along the way. But hey at least GDP went up! #book #books #bookstoread #BookCommunity #bookCollection #bookstodan #bookstodon

  15. It’s super-ironic that neoliberals, who despise Karl Marx, are the last people on earth who still regard history as a straight march toward progress—a view that Marx helped mainstream if not invent, especially in _The Communist Manifesto_. But he actually abandoned this stance later: There’s no inevitable communist liberation on the horizon. #book #books #bookCollection #Bookstodon #fedibooks #bookcommunity

  17. Interview with the author where among other things he talks about how Japan’s decline in GDP rankings doesn’t reflect any decline in its actual quality of life. 21. Most rhetoric about a “free and open internet” rings hollow because it’s ultimately about the freedom of _things_ rather than of people. Such rhetoric is incoherent whether it comes from the likes of Meta (which profits from proprietary tech that mines data from “free and open” sharing) or the Internet Archive (which often makes things “free and open” against people’s consent). #books #book #Bookstodon #bookCollection #booksToRead #BookLover #BookCommunity
