Weiß jemand, was mit den Radio-Streams der ARD los ist?

In den Android-Apps #RadioDroid und #Transistor kann ich sie seit heute nicht mehr abspielen. Beide verlassen sich auf das Graswurzelprojekt https://www.radio-browser.info – und die dort hinterlegten Stream-URLs scheinen nicht mehr zu stimmen.

Der einzige ARD-Stream, der bei mir noch funktioniert, ist ein AAC-Stream für #WDR5, der von Akamai ausgeliefert wird: https://wdrhf.akamaized.net/hls/live/2027996-b/wdr5/192/seglist.m3u8

Sollten beim Rebranding der #Audiothek in #ARDsounds alle Streams kaputt gegangen sein?

what I miss while working is to effortlessly switch to/find another stream that is similar in style to what I was listening already. does anyone know of any solution to that?
if there is none, could we build something on top of https://www.radio-browser.info/ and https://metabrainz.org/projects that'd recommend similar radios based on past streams?

I use #RadioDroid, on @fdroidorg at https://f-droid.org/en/packages/net.programmierecke.radiodroid2/

It uses the #RadioBrowser database to play thousands of online streams. Like Wikipedia, https://www.radio-browser.info is a user-contributed database of online radio. It has lots of commercial stations, but lots of online-only stations and lots of Campus and #CommunityRadio too.

I'm just now using my desktop today. Shortwave (desktop app) works for stations that are already added prior to today, but searching for additional stations is down. That's pretty good though that's it's not fully dependent on radio-browser to run.

Some streaming sites have their own dedicated apps (for example SomaFM, FluxFM and Radio Caprice, though the SomaFM one is the only one I really use and can recommend) https://somafm.com/mobile/

Fyi it looks like Radio-Browser (.info) lookup is unavailable at the moment (the site itself is up but not displaying station information) so audio apps that use it won't be able to retrieve stream info. This affects mobile apps like RadioDroid, Transistor and some desktop apps/widgets.

Hrmpf. #RadioDroid doesn't seem to work anymore on #Android 16, won't connect to any station... Oh well, it's #Transistor then, which is actively maintained and works.

#radiodroid ist ein Sorgenkind geworden. Die Streams sind oft unterbrochen. Durch Hessen werden ich wahrscheinlich nur mir eigenem Liedgut oder #tidal durch den Tag kommen. 🫤

Weiß jemand von meiner #followerpower ob die #AndroidApp #RadioDroid aus #Fdroid noch weiterentwickelt wird? Die letzte Version 0.86 stammt vom 05.10.2023. Wäre sehr schade, wenn die #App verwaist wäre. Die nutze ich fast täglich.

RadioDroid 📻 is no longer listed on the Google Play Store. It's the top-rated Android radio app as of late last year. Trying to piece together what's going with mixed success. It appears that lead dev Alex Segler 🇦🇹 left GitHub for GitLab like a lot of devs have lately. Then it seems like another dev forked RadioDroid on GitHub. That fork looks fairly active.

Whereas over on GitLab there's no sign of RadioDroid.

The #TechnoLovers "Minimal" radio station is such a fantastic techno music #webradio for working! I've found it to be something I can keep playing for the entire day without getting distracted by it, which isn't always the case with other #techno #trance genres.

I don't understand why that particular radio station is not listed on the official website at https://technolovers.fm, but you can find it in Shortwave and #RadioDroid's radios catalogue :blobcat:

Okay now maybe the last change since I found the Yaxi earpads. The larger plether cushions were really comfortable but not good for the audio quality. Using the Porta Pro headband and Yaxi pads make it just a bit different than the original KTX Pro sound but I am very happy with them. Currently listening to @radiofreefedi comfy channel using RadioDroid.

https://radio-browser.info is a great resource! It helped me configure the correct metadata when I set up the stream for our #CommunityRadio station. If your Community Radio station isn't on #RadioBrowser you can add it yourself!

The #RadioDroid #Android / #FDroid #webradio streaming player app's #UX would really benefit from simplification around its "favorites" starring/unstarring UI and flow. It confused the hell out of me as a user.

Kennt sich jemand mit #GrapheneOS 14 aus? Ich wollte in der #FDroid #App #RadioDroid einen #Radio Stream speichern, bekomme aber eine Meldung wegen fehlender Berechtigung. Ich kann für die App nichts einstellen, obwohl "android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE" im AndroidManifest gesetzt ist.

@sustainrelease Many apps make use of this database as a back end. #Shortwave for desktop Linux is probably the best desktop app. #RadioDroid #Transistor and #OpenRadio the best on Android. I understand OpenRadio integrates well with #AndroidAuto for those with newer vehicles.

@markgrieveson If you don't have a built-in FM radio, there's always "#RadioDroid" available from the #FDroid repo. It uses a crowd sourced user generated back end database for the station listings from around the world.
