@Beggarmidas Is it a good idea to appeal to social engine developers like #Mastodon to make it part of their integral mission / roadmap / a department towards integrate working with it's people / users at the same time as the software development ?

- for them to use us more directly.
- to use their own software - not just the #software #roadmap loop - but towards the art of #communication #roadmap / loop.

Whatever meaning to each to try get AND give ourselves to each other.

Thoughts?

Do we have any Jitsi meet experts on here? I want to record my meetings, and it’s proven to be a PITA. The official Jitsi answer is like “log in to Github and download this package, then open the terminal, and install on the command line, but oh btw you also have to have three other terminal processes installed that you have to figure out on your own.” No. Ostensibly I can record screen and sound from the control center of my iPhone, and it works in testing, but every time I try to record an actual meeting, it only saves the video, with no sound. Is there a secret trick or obstacle? What can I do?

Anyone knows what happened to the jitsi.org domain or the #Jitsi project? The domain jitsi.org seems to be "on hold" according to its Whois entry. And all DNS entries of the domain result in an NXDOMAIN response (i.e. are no more existing).

So there are also no more security updates of #JitsiMeet possible. (That's how I noticed.)

Like a #voice chat #forum with some anonymising voice (slightly) to prevent abuse but still sound quite normal, And voice normal also as option.

Anonymous voice doesn't matter as we all love #StreetFighter #Capcom #Marvel games enough and don't care what people use as username / voice.

I've been spending quite some time debugging fairmeeting, which seldomly forced all users to re-join a room. I found out that a plugin of prosody was writing too many messages in high volume instances. Moving those to memory relaxed it. After some testing I notified the #Jitsi developer community and they integrated the fix upstream https://community.jitsi.org/t/move-smacks-storage-to-memory/142389
I love how #opensource can be reviewed and improved - proud to be part of this global community.

Tried Jitsi Meet yesterday for a real meeting (w/screen sharing and everything) and it was great! No distracting AI BS; kinda like Zoom before it was ruined. But simpler.
