SearXNG is a meta search engine, which means it doesn't matter that much when singular search engines try to worsen their products and front-end changes (like generated AI slop at the top) stop mattering basically completely, since SearXNG is it's own front-end.

I’m sure I’m forgetting a few, but there’s a European and open-source alternative for every American Big Tech and closed-source application.

What I’ve noticed is that many people are afraid of what they don’t know and therefore don’t dare to make the switch (completely).
(Some people just don’t give a damn and convenience is all that matters)

Any fear is unfounded, and if all of us switches en masse, Big Tech’s power will be quickly broken, and the development of alternatives will proceed much more smoothly and quickly.

Sommigen gaven daar even gehoor aan om later toch stilletjes terug te keren naar Big Tec.

Nu werden velen even wakker geschud door onze afhankelijkheid van Amerikaanse Big Tec en komt er weer een #doeidag en andere varianten op gang.

Persoonlijk ben ik die reis al jaren geleden begonnen.

Ik vergeet er vast nog een paar, maar er is voor elke Amerikaanse en Closed Source toepassing wel een Europees en Open Source alternatief.

Wat ik merk is dat veel mensen bang zijn voor dat wat ze niet kennen en daarom niet (geheel) durven over te stappen.
(sommigen interesseerd het gewoon geen reet en is gemak het enige dat telt)

Eventuele angst is ongegrond en als we met heel Europa massaal overstappen is de macht van Big Tec snel gebroken en verloopt de ontwikkeling van alternatieven veel soepeler en sneller.

Lange Zeit https://monocles.eu/search mit Searx als Hauptsuchmaschine genutzt. Bis es leider nicht mehr ging.

Nun eben ein Video zu https://searxng.org gesehen, das ich mir 2023-03 auch schon notiert hatte (aber vergessen, warum wieder abgekommen). Next try.

Ääääähm Leute habt ihr das auch, dass Websuche über #searx nicht mehr richtig funktioniert? Egal welche Instanz. Auch monocles.eu nicht. Es gibt entweder keine Suchergebnisse, oder echt beknackte, die kaum etwas oder auch gar nichts mit dem Suchbegriff zu tun haben. Anführungszeichen werden ignoriert. Wenn ich nach "Kürbis" Istanbul suche, bekomme ich keine Ergebnisse über diese Kürbissorte, sondern als erstes den Wikipedia-Artikel zur Stadt Istanbul und andere Tourismus-Seiten.
Die Ergebnisliste ist kurz und dann kommt eine Übersicht, dass verschiedene Suchmaschinen Fehler erzeugt haben. Bing API Fehler. DuckDuckGo Anfrage zurückgewiesen. Qwandt unexpected crash. Sowas alles. Was ist denn da los?
Ich gehe gerade zwangsweise zurück zu DuckDuckGo, aber da sind die Ergebnisse halt so mies wie immer.

Me he cansado de ir cambiando de instancia de #searx. Utilizaremos @ecosia, que recientemente junto con @Qwant han comenzado a utilizar su propio índice invertido.

With docker you can run YaCy simply with:

@kzimmermann @rl_dane "most #Searx instances outright block its user-agent" you can change the user agent in dillorc and use the same one links uses, which seems to work with searx instances.

A better solution is to contact the developers to add an exception for the dillo user agent.
