Social media as a proof-reading platform.

For nearly 15 years, my draft yarn about my 2010 travels had a fairly obvious error in it.

I was flying from Mazar-i-Sharif to Herat, but when recounting the taxi trip to Mazar's airport, I said: "I can’t believe the airport was connected to Herat only by a dirt road."

Well, that and an aeroplane. But I meant to say "Mazar-i-Sharif" airport, not "Herat".

Proof-reading. It matters! 😳

I'm looking for an english #research text #proofing / language check for a #preprint that i'm proud of but is not published, any pointers ?

Personal sites I can give a pass to, but corporate sites/newsletters must invest in checks by more than the author.

If not you will inevitably get bad grammar, strange phrasing, and illogical statements like the ones in this post I came across today at work.

It simply erodes any faith I may have had in the post and ultimately the organisation. If they spare so little thought and attention to stuff like this, how can I trust what they say or with more important things?
