@chaostreffbern Hallo! Besteht vom Treff oder von Besucher:in Interesse an einer MPCNC? Habe diese mit einer Spindel verwendet, diese war aber zu schwer – Betrieb daher besser mit einer kleineren/leichteren Fräse. War bis letztes Jahr gelegentlich im Einsatz. Würde diese bei Interesse zB in den Space bringen.

I upgraded my #MPCNC with a threaded waste board and some clamps.

Hier steht schon länger eine gebrauchte #MPCNC rum. Also eine Mostly Printed #CNC.
Bei meinen Versuchen im letzten Jahr habe ich einige Fräser geschrottet, hab dann erstmal Abstand genommen.
Gestern dann einen Stifthalter gedruckt. Und zumindest aus #Inkscape kann ich jetzt über #cncjs Sachen zeichnen.
Nächster Schritt: Schleppmesser, dann wieder rüber zu #FreeCAD.

Got the conduit cut and all the 3D printed pieces done for my CNC table. Now I just need....a bunch of electronics and fasteners. I think I have a set of steppers around somewhere.

Eh, maybe next paycheck x.x

Finally!!

I brought my (MP)CNC back to life. Just a quick test for a embossing stamp made from POM (gcode generated with f-engrave).

Also: embossing powder is awsome! heard out about that stuff a few weeks ago in a video from skill tree and I just had to try it ^^“

You can really see how adaptive cubic drops in the 2¹ or 2² sized cubic voids as it finds room for them in the octree. Hopefully this structure works well for the rigidity this piece needs.

You can also see the slow color cycling from the "Sunset Rainbow" PLA+ I'm printing it in. Wish I had printed the other pieces one at a time to get the "varied colors" look, but instead I threw all multiples in at once, and wound up with very rainbow parts.

Starting the largest printed piece of a light duty CNC router. Exciting! It's supposedly not the best model of printable CNCs out there, but it's the one that contains no CNC-milled parts, so at the very least it's a good bootstrap machine.

Also because it's designed around light work, I can probably just toss my dremel in there with cheap 1/8in endmill bits off Amazon, without having to buy a spindle for it initially.

Perfekt ist das noch nicht, aber ich habe offenbar einen Workflow gefunden mit dem ich komplett ohne proprietäre Software Dinge fräsen kann.
#CAD und #CAM mit #FreeCAD, GCode senden mit #cncjs, Fräse steuern mit einem #Arduino.
Einfacher ist der CAM-Teil sicher mit #EstlCAM, aber unter Wine kann das kein USB, und ein Windows werde ich nicht installieren.
Die Fräse ist übrigens eine #MPCNC die ich als "80% fertig" übernommen habe.
Das jetzt war nur ein Test, ich freue mich auf richtige Projekte.

Tried Ondsel assembly today with a project that largely stalled bacause of the Fusion360 exodus.

It' s basically a minimal ressource, part count and weight mill for soft plate material or laser applications. Originally inspired by the MPNC roller system.

I like the Gui tweaks and helpers so far and it was mostly frictionless to assemble this project that has been altered by multiple Freecad Version and came originally from F360.

Sure the sketches and informations are largely lost but its enough to make necessary adjustmens to the generally working design:

It's already brought to the real world waiting for some soldering and testing.

First post, gonna make it an #introductions one.

I'm Alex, currently a Product Manager at Stratasys working on their software platform. I've worked in some way with #CAD / #CAM systems since 2010 and #3dprinting particularly since 2013.

My hobbies include #3dprinting , #LaserCutting , #CAD , #paintingminis , #electronics , spending time with my 3 boys and generally pottering about, all of which I'm likely to post about at one time or another.

My dad-shed / workshop where I both work and hobby is just south of Bordeaux, France and thanks to these hobbies has:
- A Prusa Mk3s
- A decommissioned MP Select Mini
- An #MPCNC
- with laser diode for laser cutting
- Router for milling
- Bunch of basic #metalworking and #woodworking tools
- The necessaries for basic #electronics
