‘Wood by the Waves’: Martin Lindsay Exhibition

The final result after two hours of woodwork (i had to learn and experience the behaviour of my new draw knife):

Two pieces of mostly plain and flat (cherry?) wood.

Now it’s time to sleep in a box, covered with a lot of woodchips to dry slowly and prevent cracking or twisting (hopefully 😉)

When it’s dry enough, I want to practise different chipcarving Cuts and patterns to get used to it.

J'ai pas mal dégrossi le piaf sur pattes. Je lui ai collé un petit coup de râpe, ça aplanit un peu les surfaces et après c'est plus facile de dessiner dessus. Je vais pouvoir dessiner les plumes, les yeux, les pattes, etc, et ainsi commencer à m'attaquer aux détails. Le plus dur est à venir.

The butter knife is looking better after some work with the gouge to mark out where the blade ends and the handle starts. Added some pencil marks to help me get the shape right.
