#MniWiconi 10 Year #NoDAPL Reunion
New Date: Sept. 17 - 20, 2026
Mni Wiconi Reunion organizers said they have a beautiful lineup in store for the upcoming 10-year Reunion.
"Coming to the stage, all the way from Watsonville, California, we’ve got SH1NE! SH1NE will be bringing his healing energy and soothing vibe to give us a remarkable performance. He is also co-leading this event, so if you know an artist, we will connect you with him!"
"That’s not all! #Indigenous frontliners will be headlining this event, your favorites are coming to the stage! That’s right, artists who’ve risked their freedoms to protect sacred water are coming back for this unforgettable experience!"
"Who, you might ask?"
"To find out, follow us on Facebook Mni Wichoni 10 Year #nodapl Reunion and Instagram @nodaplreunion for continued updates! This reunion is one you do not wanna miss!"
Join us as we come together for healing and celebration in commemoration of the 2016 #NoDAPL Movement in Standing Rock.
Come stay for 3 nights of FREE CAMPING held at Porcupine Creek on the Standing Rock Sioux Nation Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided for duration of encampment.
Camp programming will focus on healing, networking, bridging gaps and celebrating each other and our strengths. There will be games, music, open mic story-telling, and so much more!
No camping gear will be provided as this is a grassroots-led effort. Everything you bring, please take back with you. As always, we want to the leave the land better than how we found it. “Pack it in, pack it out”
Also, this is a drug/alcohol FREE space — if you are found to be inebriated or have alcohol/drugs on you, you will be asked to leave by camp security. Respectfully.
So mark your calendars and get ready for an unforgettable camping experience to honor those who served on the frontline, in camp, online and stood in solidarity across the globe for one shared message: Mni Wiconi, Water is life!"

#Epstein Survivor Describes #SexTrafficking by #Tucson #BorderPatrol -- While Agents Seize #TohonoOodham Land for #BorderWall Construction
An Epstein survivor describes the child sex trafficking of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, in Tucson, where she was a victim. At the same time, Tucson Border Patrol agents, heavily armed, are preventing Tohono O'odham tribal police from entering their own land to issue citations to border wall contractors. Meanwhile, the media has ignored a cartel witness from Sinaloa, Mexico, who described the trafficking of young girls in the Epstein files.

Honoring the #Movements and People who Inspire us. #Warriors, #Writers and #Dreamers -- A Thread Runs Through Them. #CensoredNews 20th Anniversary.
'Know who you are, and never let anyone take your power from you.'
By #BrendaNorrell, Censored News, August 30, 2026
"We're coming up on our 20th anniversary at Censored News, and we are honoring the warriors, leaders, writers and dreamers who make Censored News possible.
When the Mohawks came for the border summit in 2006 and 2007, it was, as they say in the movie Casablanca, the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
Along with the Mohawks, leaders, writers and dreamers through the years became a sort of collective which makes Censored News what it is, a service to #IndigenousPeople and #HumanRights.
We lost many of our best, #Lakota Warrior Woman #DebWhitePlume, our longtime friend #KleeBenally, our French translator #ChristinePrat, and many more. But thanks to those who keep sharing their work, we keep Censored News going. This summer our page views increased by millions, thanks to their labors of love.
Today, we celebrate the movements and people who inspire us, as we celebrate our 20 Year Anniversary at Censored News."

‘The cavalry’s coming!’: Indigenous activism from 1492 to Standing Rock
Famed Indigenous activists like Leonard Peltier and Madonna Thunder Hawk and younger activists shared their thoughts with ICT about the evolution of Indigenous activism from the rise of the American Indian Movement in the 1960s to Standing Rock and beyond.
by Kevin Abourezk, May 11, 2026
#CannonballND – "The field is serene. The blades of brown grass, not yet awakened by spring rains, sway gently. In the distance, the #MissouriRiver cuts a blue streak across the unbroken plains. The silence is punctuated only by the sound of passing cars and the low hum of rushing water in nearby #CannonballRiver.
"But if you listen carefully, you can hear defiant voices shouting and then screaming.
"Ten years ago, this land exploded.
"For nearly a year, from April 2016 to February 2017, thousands of people stood strong against #MilitarizedPolice, #FederalTroops and #PrivateSecurityForces [#Blackwater] hired to protect the 1,176-mile #DakotaAccessPipeline. They gathered to resist a private corporation’s efforts to build a pipeline less than a mile from the #StandingRockSioux Reservation near the #NorthDakota-#SouthDakota border.
"In the end, they were forced to evacuate their camps as authorities quieted, but never fully extinguished, the uprising. Some would say the fire that ignited at #StandingRock was lit decades earlier by #NativeActivists who fought oppression and violence in the 1960s and 1970s.
"While Native people have resisted #colonization and its impacts since 1492, the rise of the American Indian Movement in the 1960s marked a turning point in the efforts of Native people to join together and speak in one voice. That torch of resistance was carried all the way from places like #AlcatrazIsland and #WoundedKnee to a field near the Missouri River in 2016.
"The #NoDAPL movement reached its height on Nov. 20, 2016, when hundreds of water protectors gathered on a bridge to clear two burned-out trucks that impeded a public roadway that provided access to the pipeline drill site and to the camp. The confrontation was the most violent clash between water protectors and authorities during the protest and led to nearly 200 people being injured, some seriously."

#Minneapolis: #Dakota and #Lakota #Oyate Set Up Lodges Outside #WhippleBuilding
By #NiskíthePrayerCamp, #CensoredNews, Feb. 10, 2026
"Niskíthe Prayer Camp is honored to have been asked to share our tipis for this endeavor and we plan to work to supply our Dakota relatives in Minneapolis with supplies that they will need to continue this occupation and fulfill their demands for the return of #FortSnelling.
"Despite being visited yesterday by both state park rangers and Minneapolis police, our Dakota relatives survived their first night in the tipi encampment at Fort Snelling, a former internment (read 'concentration') camp for Indigenous people upon which the federal #ICE detention center in the Whipple Building is now situated. The Dakota want it back, and we plan to help them!
The Red Lake Nation said, 'The Dakota and Lakota Oyate have set up lodges outside the Whipple Building.' "

[LIVE] #NationalDayOfMourning 2025, (27 November 25 @ 12pm ET)
"Since 1970, Indigenous people & their allies have gathered at noon on Cole's Hill in Plymouth to commemorate a National Day of Mourning on the US Thanksgiving holiday. Many Native people do not celebrate the arrival of the Pilgrims & other European settlers. Thanksgiving Day is a reminder of the genocide of millions of Native people, the theft of Native lands and the erasure of Native cultures. Participants in National Day of Mourning honor Indigenous ancestors and Native resilience. It is a day of remembrance and spiritual connection, as well as a protest against the racism and oppression that Indigenous people continue to experience worldwide."

ORIENTATION FOR NATIONAL DAY OF MOURNING 11/27/25
WHAT IS NATIONAL DAY OF MOURNING?
An annual tradition since 1970, National Day of Mourning is a solemn, spiritual and highly political day. Many of us fast from sundown the day before through the afternoon of that day (and have a social after NDOM so that participants in NDOM can break their fasts). We are mourning our ancestors and the genocide of our peoples and the theft of our lands. NDOM is a day when we mourn, but we also feel our strength in action and solidarity.
WHEN AND WHERE IS DAY OF MOURNING?
Thursday, November 27, 2025 (U.S. "thanksgiving" day) at Cole's Hill, Plymouth, Massachusetts, 12 noon SHARP. Cole's Hill is the hill above Plymouth Rock in the Plymouth historic waterfront area. The rallies and marches will last until approximately 3 pm.
WILL THERE BE A MARCH?
Yes, there will be a march through the historic district of Plymouth. Plymouth agreed, as part of the settlement of 10/19/98, that UAINE may march on National Day of Mourning without the need for a permit as long as we give the town advance notice.
PROGRAM
Although we very much welcome our non-Native supporters to join us, it is a day when only Indigenous people speak about our history and the struggles that are taking place throughout the Americas. Speakers are by invitation only. This year's NDOM will be livestreamed from Plymouth.
Note that NDOM is not a powwow or commercial event, so we ask that people do not sell merchandise or distribute leaflets at the outdoor program. We will have UAINE t-shirts available for sale following the march.
We also ask that you do not eat (unless you must do so for medical reasons) at the outdoor speak-out and march out of respect for the participants who are fasting.
Dress for the weather!SOCIAL
There will be box lunches available for distribution after the march (turkey and vegan), but we will not have a full sit-down social.

It is a day of remembrance and spiritual connection, as well as a protest against the racism and oppression that Indigenous people continue to experience worldwide.

Cole’s Hill (above #PlymouthRock), #PlymouthMAJoin us as we continue to create a true awareness of Native peoples and history. Help shatter the untrue image of the Pilgrims, and the unjust system based on #WhiteSupremacy, #SettlerColonialism, #sexism, #homophobia and the profit-driven destruction of the Earth that they and other European settlers introduced to these shores.
#Solidarity with #IndigenousStruggles throughout the world!
From #TurtleIsland to #Palestine, #Colonialism is a Crime!
While many supporters will attend in person, we will also Livestream the event from Plymouth.

[email protected] * #UAINENo sit-down social, but box lunches will be available.
Masks required. What is National Day of Mourning?
An annual tradition since 1970, National Day of Mourning is a solemn, spiritual and highly political day. Many of us fast from sundown the day before through the afternoon of that day (and have a social after #NDOM so that participants in NDOM can break their fasts). We are mourning our ancestors and the #genocide of our peoples and the theft of our lands. NDOM is a day when we mourn, but we also feel our strength in action and solidarity.
When and where is Day of Mourning?
Thursday, November 27, 2025 (U.S. “thanksgiving” day) at Cole’s Hill, Plymouth, Massachusetts, 12 noon SHARP. Cole’s Hill is the hill above Plymouth Rock in the Plymouth historic waterfront area.
This year’s NDOM will be livestreamed from Plymouth.
Livestream
If you cannot get to Plymouth, you can watch ourlivestream!"

Norway’s Treatment of Sámi Indigenous People Makes a Mockery of Its Progressive Image
By Martine Aamodt Hess
March 13, 2023
"On March 1, global media outlets reported that #GretaThunberg had been arrested in #Oslo while protesting #WindTurbines. It wasn’t that the #ClimateActivist had suddenly taken a stand against renewable energy. Rather, she had joined forces with #activists standing up for #IndigenousPeople ’s plea to be able to continue practicing their culture in #Fosen, central #Norway. For hundreds of years, this land has been home to #ReindeerHerders — an important tradition, which helps preserve the Sámi’s endangered language. Yet today, the siting in Fosen of wind turbines, which frighten the reindeer, puts its continuation in doubt.
"Some five hundred days ago, #Norway’s supreme court ruled that the turbines are a violation of #IndigenousRights under international conventions. Yet they are still running even now — and indeed, even after the ebbing of the short-lived news attention surrounding Thunberg’s role in the protest. Once again, the Norwegian government has proven that it remains indifferent to Sámi lives.
"'What’s happening in Norway doesn’t surprise me — [there’s] this double standard of working to protect #indigenous groups around the world and presenting itself as this #progressive nation, yet not giving a shit about the indigenous people living within its own borders,' Elle Rávdná Näkkäläjärvi tells me. Between reindeer herding and her studies, the twenty-two-year-old is the leader of the Sámi Parliament’s youth committee and is a board member of the Norwegian Sámi Association youth group. During the recent eight days of protest in Oslo, she stood arm in arm with her Sámi sisters and brothers. “We are used to it but that doesn’t make it any less unjust. It’s about time Norway drops the mask. It’s about time the rest of the world sees Norway for what it really is,' she says.
"From the outside looking in, the Scandinavian country is often seen as a progressive social democracy. But — as Elle’s comments suggest — a story far less told is that of its #colonial past, also striking at indigenous people in Norway itself."
