He was crushed by the #ReaganBush #IgnoranceIsStrength campaign, partly for asking Americans to make a trivial sacrifice for the good of all, and partly due to the treasonous interference by #Reagan in the #Iran_hostage_crisis negotiations. There has not yet been a campaign cycle when a progressive anything like AOC could have won, unless you would count Bernie in 2016. I voted for him in the California primary since I thought that he might have won, after the GOP had demonized Clinton for 20 years and nominated their worst candidate since Goldwater. I was also sick of neoliberal appeasement of the rich.
