Il 16 agosto 2026 il Tribunale Rivoluzionario di Teheran ha condannato il blogger e giornalista cittadino Soheil Arabi a cinque anni di reclusione per «assemblea e collusione» contro la sicurezza nazionale. Il tempo già trascorso in carcere sarà conteggiato nei cinque anni di pena. Per due anni non potrà svolgere attività professionali legate ai social media.

I agree with Bomber that the left is unwise to concede this ground to cynical hard right grifters. I'd like to see a genuinely nonpartisan kiwi org that defends freedom of political and artistic expression, with *teeth*. But also hosts friendly and constructive public debates about reasonable limits, like defamation and advocating violence, and where to draw the lines.

Today, the Constitutional Council, the highest constitutional authority in #France ,struck down the ban on #socialmedia for persons under 15, ruling that the measure constitutes a “disproportionate infringement” of their freedom of expression. President #Macron lost. No ID verification will take place. Hopefully, the other governments and constitutional courts in #Europe and elsewhere will act in the same way.
