#Conservative #Republican hero #RonaldReagan debating his opponent George Bush for the #GOP presidential nomination in 1980, called for an Open Border with #Mexico. 🤔Both candidates give what would be called downright #Progressive responses, but #Reagan went even further, condemning any building of "a fence" and allowing Mexicans to come here to work freely... a response that would get him called a #Communist by today's GOP.

Yep. My BIL once tried to tell me during the #Obama Administration:"EVERYONE KNOWS the polices of the previous president don't take effect effect until AFTER they leave office" (attempting to blame Bill Clinton for #Dubya's messes, and credit Dubya for Obama's success.)
I replied:
"So CARTER actually deserves the credit for #Reagan's success, and #Reagan deserves the blame for Bush-41's 'failure'?" 🤔
He had no response to that.

Political differentiation is what’s needed in a political system where all parties (even the #Greens afaik) are content to work with the current #Economic system which is stuck in a 40 year old dogma; that markets know best (aka #NeoClassical or #NeoLiberal economic hogwash clearly debunked twice since the #Thatcher and #Reagan anathema on #WealthEquity , #SocialLicence and #SocialDemocracy).Otherwise the electorate would wake up to the con job the polies perpetrate.
And 100% on #FirstNations and #TorresStraightIslanders, all players in the political arena have #Abandonned them as a result of #TheVoice debacle (thank you #Anthony for doing fuck all to make sure the referendum passed, it clearly showed whose side you’re on #AlboPM )
I’m fucking sick of all polies and their lies, redirections, misdirections and disinformation. I can see no way out of this except 1) a mother of all global financial crash, or 2) people’s revolutions worldwide, or 3) both. We’ve been taken for a ride for far too long IMO.
