#Conservative #Republican hero #RonaldReagan debating his opponent George Bush for the #GOP presidential nomination in 1980, called for an Open Border with #Mexico. 🤔

Both candidates give what would be called downright #Progressive responses, but #Reagan went even further, condemning any building of "a fence" and allowing Mexicans to come here to work freely... a response that would get him called a #Communist by today's GOP.

Yep. My BIL once tried to tell me during the #Obama Administration:

"EVERYONE KNOWS the polices of the previous president don't take effect effect until AFTER they leave office" (attempting to blame Bill Clinton for #Dubya's messes, and credit Dubya for Obama's success.)

I replied:

"So CARTER actually deserves the credit for #Reagan's success, and #Reagan deserves the blame for Bush-41's 'failure'?" 🤔
