#Reagan and #Thatcher will be remembered for lighting the match that set fire to the powder trail leading to the barrel of black powder yet to explode, but they did not manufacture that match out of thin air. It was an organisation that produced the *RoadMap* for them both and self-interests did the rest.
“At his first cabinet meeting as president in 1981, Reagan distributed copies of Mandate for Leadership, whose 3,000 pages came out of the Heritage Foundation, a conservative research group in Washington, DC. This became the ideology of neoliberalism, which advocated a smaller state, industry deregulation, tax cuts, strengthened defence, and roll-back of social engineering. A year later, 60 per cent of the Mandate’s proposals had been adopted by the Reagan administration, and The New York Times called it ‘the manifesto of the Reagan revolution’. His initiative engaged Thatcher, and spread globally to dominate public policy in democracies around the world.”

Back in 1982, when #ChiefJustice John Roberts was a 26-year-old #Reagan staffer, he wrote that #minority voting protections were “the most intrusive interference imaginable by federal courts into state and local processes.”
By rescinding the #VotingRights Act of 1965 this past week, he and "conservative" pals Alioto, Gorsuch etc all just completed the #election rights stifling life's work that the young #RWNJ radicals dreamed about over 40 years ago...

1/ Was für ein Text! Ich habe gerade mal ein bisschen in den Archiven nach Texten über #SintiUndRoma gesucht und dabei das gefunden. Der Text ist aus der CDU-Zeitung #NeueZeit. Die CDU ware eine Blockpartei in der #DDR. Es scheint so zu sein, dass #Sinti und #Roma in der DDR-Presse selten vorkamen. Eigentlich nur wenn es um den Zentralrat der Sinti und Roma der BRD ging. Zum Beispiel in Meldungen über den Besuch von #Kohl und #Reagan auf dem SS-Friedhof in #Bitburg.
Vom Tod der Sinti und Roma wusste ich seit #EdeUndUnku, von #SanktMartin erst seit unsere Kinder im Prenzlauer Berg in den Kindergarten kamen.
Jedenfalls ist hier in der Neuen Zeit zum Gedenken an den 50. Jahrestag der #Reichspogromnacht. Sankt Martin die Klammer.
Es wird sehr klar die Schuld der Umstehenden angesprochen. Es wird klargemacht, dass alle, alle nach der Reichsprogromnacht wussten, wohin ihre jüdischen Nachbar*innen kamen. Wer die Herrenmenschen waren und wer nicht dazugezählt wurde und dann verschwand.

Now, it’s like, a cry against godly person is their cross to bear. We don’t open to strangers but celebrate their violent removal.
