  1. Here's a funny story that is probably of niche hilarity to me seeing as this stuff has been my job for 30 years:

I used the voice recognition in my car to navigate me to the nearest Lidl.

It offered me a route to Liechtenstein.

It really did. I nearly pissed myself laughing. But then, I would.

The satnav in Hyundai is shit, really shit. In my professional opinion.

  2. The Hyundai Inster is the only car I have ever driven that has a factory-fitted curry hook. In fact it has TWO curry hooks!

(For those who don't know what a "curry hook" is: it's a hook that you can use to keep a (shopping) bag upright - in the very British context - keeping your bag of takeaway curry upright while on the way home.)

  3. I'm getting really quite pissed off with this now, Inster is on sale in at least Italy, France, Germany, Belgium and UK already. Not in Spain still. FFS. What is interesting, though, is the games they play with different equipment levels and prices between EU countries. Looks like in Italy you don't get a very well-equipped car, comparatively. In France 3 trim levels, Italy & Spain two. In EU no sunroof nor ventilated seats like in Korean domestic market, yet we pay much more.

  4. Drowsy driver alert, leather steering wheel, driver seat height adjust, motorised folding wing mirrors, mostly-LED lighting, halogen headlights, steering wheel paddles, adaptive cruise control with highway driving assist, auto A/C, lane departure warning, tow bar electric pre-install, 12V socket, lane keeping, rear camera, auto emergency braking, sign detection, TPMS

  5. No prices on the half-working configurator, the model isn’t listed from the main page and the configurator workflow is also borked.

White paint (my choice, always!) is €300 extra

To follow, long equipment lists which do include sliding & reclining rear seats, 360º view, adaptive LED headlights, blindspot monitoring/warning & V2L. No sunroof (makes sense) and no ventilated front seats (does NOT make sense!) here in Spain.

  6. Firstly, all cars are bad.

That said, Hyundai Inster is aaaalllmooost on sale in Spain. Clearly “beginning of December” is the sales start, but their web admin has screwed it up & so there’s a broken configurator up on their site.
