Squeezed in an Elgato video capture device into the back of my desk. There's a 2x1 hdmi switch plugged into it: one hdmi cable goes to my Pentium II tower; the other plugs into my retro console cart (housing an Xbox, NES, PS1 and PS2), which itself goes into a RCA to hdmi converter in turn plugged into an 8x1 RCA switch.
The Elgato sends the video to my MacBook and also passes through the video into an 4x1 hdmi switch. This switch is how I can alternate between my AppleTV, my two MacBooks, a Nintendo Switch, and the Elgato.
The two MacBooks share a 2x1 hdmi switch. My personal MacBook is plugged into a Thunderbolt dock. There's also a USB hub shared by the MacBooks for all my peripherals.
There's an HDMI audio splitter that the 4x1 hdmi switch goes into to redirect the audio into my Edifier speakers via optical cables.
Every single device can output to the monitor and the speakers. 😎
