I pulled every frequency within 100 miles of home from RepeaterBook and had Claude organize them into 391 channels across 17 named memory banks, exported as a CSV for RT Systems. It also designed a two-sided quick reference guide (images).
Best part: I finally get named memory banks on my Yaesu FT5DR.
Has anyone just tried to plug in the cable and see if Claude can program the radio directly??? I may give it a go.

Last night I gave a 20-minute talk to PART of Westford about island operating: four years of Scout trips to Peddocks Island in Boston Harbor, the US Islands Awards Program, getting there, camping, my gear, and why a short trip feels like a small expedition.

Order has arrived. Each box has a smaller label with an RF chip and antenna on the back. I'll have to do a net search later on to see what band they operate in and see if I have any gear that will allow me to read it.

Two good things that happened.
Installation of Pulse Effects on Debian was successful.
AC DC Bon Scott version is kicking my eardrums asses. Dirty Deeds album to be exact.
A Prolific PL203 usb to serial port adapter was found to work on the Kenwood TS870.
Now computer control and other modes of transmit are opened up for me.

Troop 119 took Jamboree on the Air to the center of Lexington this year.
We got a town permit, set up a station in the town center, and invited other troops to drop in. 10 and 20 meters, lots of contacts, and several Scouts on the mic for the first time. 7 licensed adults and 4 licensed Scouts made it easy.
